I've been meaning to ask this earlier but I'm guessing a timely response will still happen. I'm visiting my folks the next week down in Anna Maria and would love to visit CCB. Neither of my parents drink (dad does O'Douls) so I'm wondering if CCB serves food? They are very adventurous and would go either way but I don't want to make them sit through me enjoying a bunch of awesome beers while they're just sitting watching and talking. Hopefully they serve food or at least small plates.

I tried to look up info on the website but came up empty. Granted I didn't look a ton.

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

    Nick

I don't believe the brewery/tasting room has food, at least I've never seen it. The cigar city brewpub does serve food that is local and slightly upscale, although the draft selection won't be as extensive as the tasting room. I do hear the brewpub carries some beer that is brewed there and not available at CCB. Check their Facebook pages out for the brewery and brew pub.

Theres food in the front of the tasting room but it only consists of sandwiches and more often than not theres a food truck outside. If youre looking for table service then go to the brewpub.

Side note, the Beer Box in Sarasota is doing a month long CCB tap takeover for February. At least 10 CCB beers on tap at all times.

CCB Brewpub food is very good, at least everything I have tried. Their beers are solid also. They brew their own beers so you will find 5 or so beers not served at CCB. I believe they are about 10mi from the brewery. The Tasting room will normally have a food truck out front and you can bring your meal back to the bar or your table.

2nd the brewpub. the food is amazing, and they have great taps. it's about 15-20 min north of the brewery, and a good hour to hour and 15 minutes from anna maria.

i live in bradenton, so if they can't go, i can usually be easily talked into a trip up there. :grinning:

You can easily bring food or have food ordered to the brewpub also. My friends and I actually ordered a pizza to be delivered there before, they don't care. So if you get there and the Cuban cafe is closed and no food truck, order something. Ask the bartenders what delivers around there, some know

the brewery does have a small little sandwich shop thing in the front now where the merchandise used to be kept. sandwiches only, actually make a pretty darn good Cuban. however im not sure exactly what days/times they are open. I believe it is only during the day (closes about 4 or 5ish???) and not sure about weekends.

Well I'm headed to CCB brewery for a tour tomorrow at 11:15am and then plan on tasting their brews and eating some lunch. After that I'm heading to Rapp to see what they've got going on and then back to Anna Maria and hoping my flight into BWI is cancelled Thursday morning.

If anyone is planning on being at either place let me know.

I recommend Peg's/Cycle as well if you have time, but Rapp is great too.

Good decision on going to the brewery - better stuff available to drink and they might have the guy making sandwiches in front or a food truck. Worse case you can order a pizza or something.

If you like sours I would HIGHLY recommend buying a bottle (or 6) of their Guava Grove.... so good.

I had a great guy send mea. Growler of Cycle's Pixie. What a great beer. Depending on time allowance I might make it there.

Thanks for the info, my cousin has me muling him a bottle back. I've just recently got into sours and will definitely grab a handful to bring back to PA.

    Thanks everyone!

The last bottle of Don Gauvigno's walked out the door today unfortunately, it was also very tasty. The sandwich shop at the brewery opens up at noon so get you some grub after your tour... If you see/hear them talk about anything interesting currently in the fermenters you might want to ask for a taste ;-) they will sometimes oblige.

Take your parents to the brewpub and get them filled up with good food and drowsy.
Then you can stop at the brewery and they can sleep it off while you sample

I had a great time at the brewery this morning/afternoon. Matt the bartender was incredibly knowledgable and as friendly as anyone could ask. Can't wait to be back next year!

If you are leaving from Tampa Cigar City has a place in Terminal C that serves food and has several beers on tap.
