Glad I brought the bcbcs and black butte. Excellent time today everyone
You sir are my hero of the day!
I brought the Mexican cake and it has more spicy-ness than hunahpu and its less sweet and chocolaty.
In my mind Huna is a perfect balance of the cacao and spicieness of the chilis. Will have to try the Mexican Cake and see what I think...
Same here. Gotta try it but huna will be tough to beat.
Do you have to buy breakfast or can you just get a bottle?
Is there a limit?
One bottle per adult until they run out, in order to purchase a bottle you must order off the brunch menu... I know a number of us tried to get extra bottles today, I didnt have any luck...
any word on growler tuesday release?
They post on Facebook sometime between 11 and noon Tuesday.
I will be there!
I can never sneak out of work in time for the growler Tuesday... Kills me sometimes!
Either Ghost of Huna or another brown ale variant with berries or vanilla or cinnamon or whatever they feel like throwing up for the non-whale-bait of the week. If you're lucky they might throw up a suicide blend of Three Palms Ruby Pogo, Geiger's Hoppy Amber, and Wakatu.
Thanks for the info guys, just picked up one today. Anyone know if it was brewpub release only? Or will they have some at the tasting room as well?
They have to have more because the girl at the brewpub said they only released 30 Saturday and 30 Sunday. It just sucks having to buy food each time in order to get ONE beer. Haha I know I'm a cheap bastard
Why do they have to have more? The whole point of these vintage weekends is to get customers into the brewpub for brunch by offering previously released beers that you can no longer buy anywhere. They will do another release next weekend with something different. They are being nice by letting people take the bottles to go, they could just as easily say its for on site consumption only and bring it out already opened.
wow don't have a heart attack pal. I'm def. appreciative of the release, I was just wondering if anyone has seen any at the tasting room.
No heart attack. Just letting you know these will never be in the tasting room because the whole point is to get people down to the brewpub to buy their awesome food.
when was capricho originally released?
Like March, bro...
appreciate the info
I'll play CCB homer now, but I must give kudos to the brewpub for some exceptional food and service. The wife and I went to the brunch Sunday, had the fried chicken and the ropa vieja Eggs Benedict and both were top notch. Picking up the Capricho Oscuro was just icing on the cake, we had a really great experience. I'm told these releases will continue on the weekends for a bit to entice folks to give them a shot. If you do, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Great atmosphere and the brunch was stellar awesome time.
my girlfriend and I were given a private tour of the entire establishment last friday by the national sales manager. He told us next years release of Hunahpu will most likely be done by tickets and limited to about 3500. Due to over 9000 people showing up for this years release.
So it looks like I'll be visiting for brunch this Saturday, though Sunday isn't off the table. Does anyone do bottle sharing on Sundays?
Woohoo, i'm already in line!
What will today be?
Fuck me finally got home after a long two weeks from home and I break my bottle of Capricho Oscuro great times. If anyone has one that they would like to trade let me know
What is today's release?
Multi beer release, they handed out numbers and you get to choose between Leon, Sweet Stout, BA Big Sound and 2012 Huna. 6 bottles total of each, you get to choose in order of number in line.
Its a bunch of shit released today including a beer Wayne brewed for his band!
I have chosen Leon cause I'm the loser who was first in line.
Wow cool release!
A bunch of adults crying over beer.
Pro tip for everyone: show up whenever and just jump in line, get whatever bottle you want.
Or you can cut in line 30 minutes before they open.
I didn't cut anyone, or take anything I didn't deserve. I also did not cry...it's beer, not real life.
