I'll be in Tampa for the week starting tomorrow. I'm there for work, so fairly limited free time. Is the brewpub worth checking out? Thanks.

Yes. If they have bottles of Sam Church RIS, get some. It's a 11-12% Coffee RIS. The draft is good too.

Yep, they typically have some decent Growlers to go. Get the Hunahpu brownie or cookies if they're on the menu.

After my disappointing experience at the DogFish Brew Pub I skipped the CCB one when I was in Tampa. But it sounds like it might be worth a stop. Look forward to checking it out in a few weeks.

"Is it worth checking out?" As a Tampa resident and general CCB supporter, I'd say yes ... BUT. "Tampa" is a spread-out city (and I put "Tampa" in quote marks because people consider everything from Land O' Lakes south to Riverview and as far east as Brandon as "Tampa") so whether I would go to the brewpub would depend on where I'm working, where I'm staying, how many nights I'm here and how many other places I wanna go while here, etc. The challenge, in my mind, with the Brewpub is that it's not centrally located (and the drive up Dale Mabry is a traffic-light-filled nightmare anytime around rush hour). I live south of the brewery and it's easier for me to get to Seminole Heights, Ybor or even St Pete than it is to get to the brewpub.

Staying near ybor city/downtown? There for 3 nights.

I plan to land today, check in to hotel, then hit the brew pub or tasting room...not sure which yet.

I guess another question - and thanks for the answers - best beer shops to hit near ybor/downtown? I want to bring back some stuff we don't get in Texas.

It is only a few miles to the brewery from there. Stuff on tap you won't be able to get anywhere else. Great cuban sandwich too.

Land, go to CCB tasting room (< 5 minutes from airport), quite literally go around the corner from CCB to hit Total Wine and then go check in to your hotel. Check websites because not all breweries here are open Mondays but you'll be close to Tampa Bay Brewing Co. (along with CCB Brewpub, it's one of the few brewpubs we have in the area), Cigar City Cider & Mead and Coppertail all in Ybor (and Seminole Heights isn't far from there).

I'm not sure what your schedule is but CCB does special growler releases on Tuesday mornings. If your free from 11-1230 you could stop by the tasting room and get in on that.

Depending on your itinerary, I'd say yes, it's worth checking out, but if you are pressed for time and having to choose one place to go besides CCB, it's not the place I'd choose.

I like Three Palms (and I'm a Thirsty Friend member) but I'd recommend Coppertail over three palms to any visitors. Much more centrally located if staying in Tampa, really nice tasting room, and overall better lineup.

You cray. Randy has way tastier beers. Coppertail has a standard format of OK beers but yes, there taproom is super dope. Three Palms taproom looks illegal but the beers are top notch micro batch craft.
