This is the best news I've heard since last night when the manager of one of my local beer bars told me they'll probably be tapping a keg of Zhukov on Monday
Yeah, or NY for that matter. Like a handful of other buzz breweries, they show up in the NYC area but not a trace upstate.
They show up in VA, but never in NC. they drive right through the damn state and dont stop. Ive seen one keg of Cucumber Saison and Peach Jai Alai in Raleigh, but that was on the hush hush. I get a decent amount of their beer, but thats because I have friends.
I don't know about VA, but I can say that NJ is where beer goes to get in a belly - I imagine the same is true for NYC. Huge markets with huge demands for good beer, so I can't really fault any brewery for choosing these markets as their 2nd markets.
NC has two separate markets. Some breweries go east to Greensboro, then build up hype and enter Raleigh and Durham because we just have this insane pull for craft and local beer.
We should get some kind of Syracuse meet up going. I brought a few bottles up when I moved that I'd be willing to share.
I'm pretty sure that is because of their relationship with Brown Distributing. They have a location in South Florida (CCB's distributor there) and it probably is rather easy to then set up distribution with the sister company in Virginia. But from what I hear it still isn't that much that they are getting in VA.
