Cigar City in Philly?

Hit up beermenus.com for draft, you may find some hard to find drafts. As far as cans, I'd avoid bottle shops, and check out some Whole Foods. The prices and quality (freshness) seem to be much better than some inner-city bottle shops. I grabbed some Jai Alai at the Whole Foods in Plymouth Meeting.

Philly is awesome for beer in general. It's like the U.S. hub for finding hard to find beer for some reason.

Also, GO TO MONKS.

 

Not all Whole Foods. The ones in Devon and Plymouth Meeting have beer, but the one in Fairmount does not, at least it didn't as of three years ago.

 

I would actually use www.phillytapfinder.com for taps. I find that Philly bars use and update this waaay more frequently than BeerMenus.com. Check the events tab for anything special going on that weekend.

I've seen Jai Alai, Maduro Brown, and Invasion at the Foodery and other bottle shops.

 

There's some great taplists happening during the Craft Brewers Conference.

 

Check out Moore Beverage in Philly. They have cases of Jai Alai right now. If you call and let them know when you'll be through, they may hold one for you. It's like three minutes off of 95.

If you don't want a case, Beer Heaven is very close by and they should have some (but expect to pay bottle shop prices).

 

Just chiming in cause it doesn't look like anyone said it, but I've never seen Cigar City in NJ except for when I bring it there myself
