Cigar City Jai Alai availability question

    I bought this a few times in DiCiccos Market in Brewster NY... about 2 to 3 months ago...I stopped in there today and was told it was seasonal, and would be in around August... OK, I thought... but when I went to look up some of their other products... I noticed it was listed as year round on their site.... Is this a regional thing or do some stores only stock things at certain times?.. I guess I may have just answered my own question, but any feedback would be helpful..... thanks....

    IM pretty sure CCB isnt distributed to NY, but if it is, im raising hell. They drove right by NC to get there.

    This would be a classic example of bootlegging, sir. I guess its seasonal if the owner has to drive and get it.

    It is distributed to NY and to here in GA but I haven't seen it in a few months.

    They recently stopped distro to NY. Maybe they're coming back in August?

    According to seekabrew.com, CCB is distributed to 6 states, NY is one of them. As far as Jai Alai, it is a year round beer. However, CCB is under going an expansion, and until it's finished production of a number of their beers will be decreased. I haven't seen it's availability change at all down here in FL, but I wouldn't be surprised if the other states that usually get CCB are short for a while. That may explain your situations.

    For NY and PA, CCB is currently sending only to New York City and Philly, and I'm pretty sure they've knocked them back to draft only for the time being.

    To add to this, when we went to Hunahpu's Day they had a new calander on the wall of the brew room and when we asked them about it they said that with the nerw expansion they were going to a more structured brew schedule. So now they only brew according to the schedule.

    They told us that beers like Jose Marti wouldn't be brewed again until next year (when the schedule called for them to brew more). Once they get the cannery open im sure the supply of Jai Alai will be never ending!

    Jai Alai is definitely not brewed seasonally, I would guess that is probably their highest volume regular offering. The Oak Aged Jai Ali is a different story, that is labeled as a year-round offering but it's definitely not available year-round.

    i see bottles of CC stuff around philly, but maybe they're older? when jai alai comes in there's usually palates of it at the distributors.
