I am going to be in Tampa next Friday for a meeting and staying over until Saturday morning. I am staying at the Courtyard Marriott on West Cypress. Looks like it is less than mile from Cigar City. Distance wise, it is obviously walkable. Is the area between the two safe enough for walking? Not all that worried, just curious.

I would say take a cab, its not an area that is friendly to foot traffic

You should be fine, you'll be walking thru a lower middle class/commercial neighborhood not without crime, but certainly not a ghetto. I wouldn't hesitate to make the walk at any time of day.

    Agree with the cab ride.

You should be fine during the day, but I'd take a cab if it's dark and/or you've been drinking.

See if the hotel has a shuttle service. It's close enough for a quick drop off or pick-up.
