Here is a link to an article on the issue: http://tbo.com/news/politics/anheuser-busch-interested-in-buying-tampas-cigar-city-brewing-20150208/ I wonder if this happens will it mean we will get CC beers in NC.
Heard this earlier, Im at Three Palms in Tampa right now and weve been discussing it...No way does Redner sell out to AB. No way. Everything I've read has said AB is interested....Haven't heard anything that says Render is considering it, although he is supposedly listening to the offer. It would be a sad sad day for craft beer if the brewery that put Florida on the beer map were to sell out. I just don't see it.
No surprise to me. Gobble them up, have them perform or not, and maybe spit them out. It's just business done in a classic crass style that seems to work.
This article is pure garbage. I think about buying out CCB every day as well, why is there no news article about me? I really think I have a better chance of buying them then InBev, and my net worth is far from sufficient to even make a miniscule down payment.
Redner would be a fool not to listen though, if for no other reason than to gauge what AB thinks CCB is worth.
This is the third thread about this today. Last two were locked down because of what Joey Redner has said to clear up the issue.
From Facebook earlier today: Joey RednerSo that meeting took place BEFORE the 10 Barrel and Elysian deals closed. There hasn't been a second meeting in that time. Draw your own conclusions and remember newspapers can troll too. Joey Redner We also met with some people from Mahou San Miguel before the Founders deal and CBA at one point . And we talk with private equity folks all the time. You always take the meeting because information is cool. Joey Redner I suspect you won't need to boycott CCB for selling to ABI. Unless you can get me 100 million. For 100 million I don't even like beer. Joey Redner It is a moot point anyway. We took a meeting. It ain't much of a story.
