Given this is a beer site I gave my beer recommendation , but like most above I strongly prefer cigars with spirits - bourbon ideally. Or Porto. Beer is just not high on my list here.

Double Crooked Tree & Macanudo (ascots) when in the mood for a lighter fare. Or any strong with bourbon influence...

All I know is life is better with a beer and cigar.

If I must choose I'd take a St. Bernardus, Tripel, with a nice Padron 5000, swinging in a hammock on the deck of a Avon, NC beach house. Slowly drifting off into oblivian and waking up to an apple ugly from a bakery in Nags Head.

Sorry, those O degree temps are forcing me to think of some warmer times.....

Cigars ruin my beer. But a nice cigar is great when not drinking my brews.

I've never smoked pipe tobacco, but Grandpa always used too and I always loved the smell...if I were to purchase a pipe, what tobacco would you recommend I seek out? Maybe a few options...thanks

Pipe and a stout sounds good.

I am gonna echo what most people have already said which is the darker the beer the darker the cigar. I like pairing the Camacho triple maduro with a good big stout. For IPAs, a good sungrown wrappe like an Ashton ESG or VSG.

This happens sometimes too, its really trial and error. I normally would never try a pairing with a beer or cigar whale.

I have a Peterson Pipe, all handmade and have a wonderful velvet pouch for carrying it if you don't have another way to carry it. I have this one:

I have a pouch similar to this (it holds your pipe or two depending on the pipe(s) you have and 2 oz of tobacco):

For tobacco, I always recommend a nice smooth tobacco, Virginia Black is nice and has little notes of cherry in it. I smoke the IQ Mix from Lewis Pipes and Cigars in Minneapolis, MN. Its amazing, has notes of vanilla, cherry and is smooth and sweet. I love it and it is wonderful when aged (Yes pipe tobacco like fine beers can be aged and if it dries up a bit just open the baggie and sprinkle in a capful of water and close it back up, it'll re-humidify quickly)

I'm with an earlier poster, I like a milder cigar that doesn't overpower my brew

I live in S. FL and in Little Havana is this. It's a really cool place. Only in Miami.
