Hey, I'm going to be in Cincinnati for work for a week (will have car). Have a few questions/requests for recommendations. First, what part of Cincinnati should I stay in: Hyde Park or Kenwood area, and why? Second, (which ties into #1), what are some good places (restaurants, bars, breweries) to eat and get a good beer or two. As mentioned I will have a car, but would like to keep the drive to under 20 minutes. Thanks for you help!
Here's an accurate list of breweries I believe: https://365cincinnati.com/ultimate-cincinnati-breweries-guide/#breweriesmap Hyde Park probably keeps you closer to more potential stops than the Kenwood area.
Hyde Park and Kenwood are 5 minutes apart on I-71, so if you have a car, it's really irrelevant. The former is closer to the city center, so that would put you closer to "everything", although Kenwood is still not very far out at all. Both are retail areas with lots of chains, malls, and such. The only plus I could throw out for either, beer wise, would be that Hyde Park is right between Madtree and Listermann- 5 minutes either way.
I'd choose Hyde Park because it's closer to all of these places: Breweries I recommend: MadTree (must visit) Listermann Nine Giant All 3 of these breweries have food onsite. Restaurants I recommend: Gordo's is a favorite of mine for a burger. Mazunte has fantastic Mexican food. Keystone Bar & Grill has good food and a large beer selection. **** & Bull is an Irish pub type place with a large tap list.
Additionally - if you are interested/able to bring beer home, Hyde Park Wine and Spirits allows you to take singles from any 4/6 packs in the store and they get a pretty good selection of widely and limited availability locals and regionals. Downside is the beer isnt refrigerated so I would take note of dates especially for IPAS.
