    Hello all,

I'll be in Cincinnati for 3 nights, 4/27 through 4/30. Staying downtown at the Westin. I'm looking for brewery and bottle shop recommendations. I'm not familiar at all with anything there, from breweries to anything distributed there that I can't get in Florida. Any advice would be appreciated.

I won't have a car, but I'm not afraid of a longer Uber ride if it gets me somewhere good.

Finally, any beers I should ask for if I decide to post an in person trade? Jackie O's? Anything else worth asking for that was limited distro? Particularly barrel aged stouts?

    Thank so much.

    Here we go:
(Long but doable) walking distance: Partysource in Newport, KY - biggest Liquor store in the country. Also usually has a great taplist.
Liquor City Uncorked in Covington, KY - sometimes gets forgotten and has random gems.
    Breweries: downtown: Rhinegeist
    Covington, KY: Braxton
short uber ride: Streetside, Woodburn (the rage of the moment), Listerman/Triple Digit, Madtree
Close-ish bottle shops: Cappy's Norwood - close to Woodburn and Listerman
Hyde Park Wine & Spirits - a hot mess
    Hyde Park Whole Foods
    Hyde Park or Oakley Kroger
Dutch's in Hyde Park - have to ask for anything good.
    Pleasant Ridge BP
    farther afield: Root Cellar

There's a fair amount of BA Jackie Os about. Urban Artifact has been tasty lately - they are in Northside on Blue Rock.

    Enjoy!

Is Jungle Jims worth checking out?

Both locations are, yes. I can't speak to the Eastgate location, but Fairfield seems to get their bigger shipments on Monday and Wednesday. You should still be able to find some good stuff whenever you go.

It's too bad you're not visiting the week before; Cappy's in Loveland is doing a Jackie O's 40 tap takeover 4/20-22.

No problem. I take my kids in there often. If you go to the liquor and wine tasting bar they will even give the kids shot glasses of water.

I am heading back to Cincinnati for Easter. Any recommendations on the best place to score some Jackie O? When I was there last looking for beer specifically, it had not made it's way over to Cincinnati.

Also, if there is any around, are there likely to be any bombers ("special releases") or just cans of their regular stuff? I have a buddy that can get me their everydays, but I've yet to ever try any of their specialty releases (regardless of whether it is a seasonal release or a "this sells out in 1 day" release).

I realized after checking Jackie O's webpage that I guess they do not do many bombers. But still looking for some of their more specialty stuff. Anyone got a good lead on Jackie Os in Cincinnati? would love to make a stop or two while there, but won't have time to search all over (and haven't had time to call a bunch of places).

If you pass through Dayton Belmont Party Supply had Bourbon Barrel Brick Kiln yesterday. They had a couple other Jackie Os offerings too but I did not look too closely.

Best hazy, cloudy, NE style IPA in Cincinnati?

Hammer "session" IPA from Woodburn, but you will only find it on draft. Their taproom is pretty nice and they have other tasty beers. Worth a visit if you have time.

From what I've heard, Streetside's Suh, Brah? was awesome. *shrug*

Ah, yes, this one is good too. It's not AS hazy as some of the NE stuff, but it's still close.

Listermann gets a lot of hype for their NE IPAs, they had a couple on draft the other day. Suh Bruh from Streetside was decent, I think they were tapping another one soon, not sure if it happened yet. Go to Woodburn and have the Hammer Session, they had another NE IPA on draft at one point as well.

Hammer Session is HAZY AF, juicy I would not call it though.

Also, if you haven't figured out Party Source doesn't have a bar/brewery open at the moment, to go beers only.

I dunno, the Hammer I had at Ollie's wasn't THAT hazy. Certainly wasn't Veil/Treehouse/Trillium hazy.

*shrug* That's hazier than what I had, although I don't have a picture to prove it.

Regardless, it's a delicious beer. :sunglasses:
