I am going to be in Cincinnati for training soon. Not sure how much free time I'll have, but I was hoping you all could give me some good beer recommendations. Is yard house my best option? Keep in mind I'm from Oklahoma where distribution sucks. Thanks for the help.

Here's something from the local paper on beer bars in Cincinnati:

    http://cincinnati.metromix.com/bars-and-clubs/roundup/top-flight-beer-bars/1926047/content

Yard House and Moerlein Lager House are very close to each other (Banks area near the river). Rheingeist is still pretty new but brewing some very good beer. If you are interested in beer stores, head right across the river into Kentucky and hit the Party Source. Their selection is pretty amazing.

Thanks for the recommendations. We are supposed to be near the airport most of the time, but hopefully I'll have some time to venture out a little.

Hit Rhinegeist, best place in Cinci IMO.

Just bumping this thread one more time since I'll be in Cincy later this week. It looks like the best places to go are:

    Rhinegeist
**** & Bull Public House (Manstrasse or Hyde?)
    Morleins Lager House
    Yardhouse

Any other recommendations besides finding some Skyline Chili? Thanks.

    I second party source/8ball
Yard house and Lager house are both nice.

if you are willing to take a drive... you should hit the comet in northside
    http://cometbar.com/

It's about a 15min drive from downtown. Last weekend was their annual hopnosis event... 30 kegs over two days... the week after they put the leftovers on tap. The weather was really bad this year so there will be LOTS of leftovers. Some amazing/rare beers to be had.

Here's a few more recommendations...two of my favorite spots: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/31093

Also, I agree with what others have said, you should definitely go to The Party Source/ 8Ball and Moerlein Lager House.

Rhinegeist's beers are gross, IMO. Moerlein has awesome food. Get the cheese and meat plate and get candied pork belly. Head to the MadTree taproom if you get a chance. Best local beers without a doubt. If you're staying at the airport, Hollywood Casino has a new beer bar just across the river in Lawrenceburg, IN. Some pretty sweet beer bars in Hebron too, PM me if you need details.

Party Source rules, but Party Town in Florence, KY is closer to the airport and pretty awesome as well.

Awesome. Thanks for the replies. My flight got canceled today so I'm now starting over tomorrow. We are staying near the airport and don't have a rental car so we will have to taxi around.

Just so you know, the airport is about 25 minutes from downtown or the party source. You'll be in lovely Hebron, KY.

Although I haven't been, I've heard mostly good things about Hebron Brew Haus. Should be close enough.

If your looking for the largest selection - yard house
Rarer beers and beer store - eightball
Food with beer - Lager House
    Local brewery - rhinegheist

I work in Hebron and can make it to party source/eightball in my lunch hour including picking up some subway. It's really not that far. Lager house and yard house a few miles closer.

And btw iso parrrie (pirate) bomb

Thanks everyone for all of the help and recommendations. Unfortunately we were a day late due to travel/weather issues. The other unfortunate part was that they didn't really let us out of the hotel except for a dinner at the Chart House. The two bright sides were that our company had an open tab at the hotel bar every night. After having my fill of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale (draft at the bar) and various other things I convinced the hotel shuttle to drop me and a co-worker off at a nearby bar (Hebron Beer Haus). It was much smaller and than I was expecting, but we had a great time. I was able to get 3F Gumballhead, 3F Alpha Klaus, Great Lakes Christmas and Bell's Third Coast before having to head back to the hotel (apparently Zombie Dust was coming later that week - or maybe now). Overall the trip was good even though I didn't make it to any of the places i had hoped to hit up. Hopefully I get the chance to come back soon and check those places out. Thanks again.
