Ok, so we know tomorrow is usually a shit show and amateur hour... But some of us *cough*me*cough* can't seem to stay away from the festivities (see: food).

So anyone else like me out there, what beers are you drinking?

Chili beers seem like an obvious choice. Lips of Faith Cocoa Mole?

I'm going to do some randall infusions myself. Jalapeños in an IPA for starters.

Anyone else doing any fun beer pairings for tomorrow?

Nothing specific, just an excuse to drink my favorite beers all damn day. I will stay tuned for the results of the peños in the randall though

Last night I attended a Tres de Mayo party with some work people. I brought the usual suspects of Corona, Negra Modelo and then a Troegs Pale Ale. A good pale ale went well with the steak fajitas and chips and salsa. But if I'm going to have a Mexican beer it's going to be Negra Modelo (or even a Dos Equis Amber).

I've actually had it at a DFH event where they ran 60 minute through jalapeños and citrus zest. I'm trying to do something similar

I'd concentrate on the food and just accompany it with the best amber lager or pils I can get, whether or not it's made in Mexico. Those styles work in harmony with the usual flavors in the dishes but don't take center stage.

Drinking a Chocolate Rain tomorrow. Other than that, no concrete plans.

That's sort of Mexican related, right? With the chocolate and all...

Oh right. Ill be pairing all that random beer with assorted grilled animals. The house beer is a home-brewed hoppy dark mild, made with my own hops.

Some BA's might celebrate it with a Bud Light Lime-arita. You'll need some St Germain, tequila, and citrus though.

I'm a huge fan of Tamarind... I'm actually having one of my more savvy homebrew friends help me make a Tamarind Saison. I'm probably doing a randall of that tomorrow too as a trial run

That could be awesome. Please post back with your thoughts.

I usually get the Jarritos Tamarindo when I'm out for Mexican, it's a heck of a soda. The snakebite recipe has some of those qualities, but ramped up quite a bit.

The tamarind paste is also a featured ingredient in my bbq sauce (it adds tang and richness), along with chipotles. Very versatile ingredient.

I'll definitely report back. I have some fruit/seeds in natural paste that I will use with probably Sorachi Ace

My last name is Hispanic (even though I am not), so I figure that's good enough to cover the Cinco de Mayo part and just drink whatever the hell I want tomorrow.

@r0nyn I'm latino but not Mexican. Still just making the excuse to party a bit better by adding some craft beer in there

I'm so upset that Bud Lite Lime-a-Rita isn't available in Philly yet, you guys.
