I'll be heading to Cincinnati later this month and am looking forward to hitting some of the city's beer bars/restaurants and breweries. However, given the current health situation, I'm also looking for beer places around town that have outdoor areas to enjoy their brews.

Could anyone recommend any spots? I'll be staying at the Hilton Netherland Plaza and will not have a car - though I'm willing to walk a half hour or so as needed, as planned when I venture to Rhinegeist.

    Thanks!

2018 Reds/Cubs had beer outside at Yard House and a couple of nice meals & beer selection at Taste of Belgium. In revisiting for this post, noticed a promising brewing called Rebel Mettle that had a patio. All close to you.

Rhinegeist rooftop is probably my favorite outdoor beer spot downtown.

About a block away from Rhinegeist is Northern Row Brewery and Distillery. They have a small outdoor patio.

Samuel Adams Taproom is very close to Rhinegeist as well. They have a good sized patio.

As mentioned by @piggy_rulz Rebble Mettle has a small patio.

Moerlein Lager House has some outdoor tables and a huge lawn adjacent to them with some seating. I'm not sure the outdoor situation there every day, but on Reds home game weekends they open a walk up window by the lawn to order food and beer.

If you get tired of walking, the Cincinnati Bell Connector (streetcar) is a handy tool for getting around downtown for free...masks are required to ride. It has a stop at the Banks (near Moerlein) and there is a stop directly in front of Rhinegeist.

    Hope you enjoy Cincinnati!
    Cheers!

Edit: Also, depending on exactly what you mean by later this month... Oktoberfest Zinzinnati would be an excellent place to drink outdoors! That is taking place on the 16th ,17th ,18th, and 19th.

    Thank you @piggy_rulz and @meanmutt!

Both Moerlein and Taste of Belgium are now on my list along with Rhinegeist, and I'll try to fit in Rebble Mettle and Sam Adams as well.

Unfortunately the Oktoberfest event will be after I leave, but I appreciate the recommendation!

The Cincinnati Bell Connector is a great idea as well, and would definitely save me some energy on some longer excursions.

The best beer in Cinci is unfortunately outside of your range unless you are willing to Uber/Lyft.

If you want to do that, Streetside makes the best beer in the city IMO and wouldn't be too expensive of a ride. They have outside seating and giant garage doors that keep the air flowing.

You should check out Copper and Flame, but they don't have a patio. You aren't far from there with where you are staying. They aren't a brewery, but sport one of the most insane taplists I've ever seen and the food is great too. They have a ton of local brews on tap but it's also pour your own, so if thats too sketchy, skip it.

Just noticed my typo on Rebble Mettle...or Rebel Mettle as I should say. Something about that name just makes my brain spell that wrong all the time...drives me nuts!

For best beer in the city, I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with @johnjohnbeer

My vote for best beer in the city would be either HighGrain Brewing Co. or Urban Artifact... depending on what styles of beer you are after. They both have large outdoor areas as well.

Both of them would require an Uber or Lyft from where you are staying though.

Taste of Belgium also had some Jackie O’s (Athens, OH) saisons/wild on tap. Dug ‘em.

Urban Artifact definitely makes some of the best beer in the city, especially the best sour beer by far. Not even a debate. But they only make sour/wild beer, which removes 90% of beer styles.

I live down the street from HighGrain (can walk there), and I think they make solid beer, but I would drive down the street a few minutes to Nine Giant 9/10 times. They do have a nice outdoor area though and contact-less ordering.
