    Hey fellow BA's,

My friends (who also love beer) and I will be coming to Cleveland August 1st for the Tribe vs White Sox. Obviously the must hit is Great Lakes a mile from the stadium, what should be the stop after we take a tour/divulge into whatever they have on tap?

And then the following day we're driving to Cincy for Reds/Cards, any great stores/locations I should keep a look out for there as well?

    Thanks guys.

Depending on the time of the Reds/Cards game, you'd be able to stop in Columbus at any of many awesome places (Seventh Son, Columbus Brewing, Elevator, North High Brewing, Barley's, many various taprooms/restaurants/etc, bottle shops and so on).

There's lots of stuff to do in between those two places, just really depends on what roads you want to take/how long you have to spare/how far you are willing to go out of the way.

Assuming you're taking 71 to Cincinnati, in Columbus, take the Cooke Rd exit (exit 115) right off 71 with easy access to Indianola Ave, which has Savor (both Market and Growl), Weiland's, Palmer's, and the Crest. With the exception of Palmer's all have growler fills available.

Your destinations in Cincy should be The Party Source, which is JUST over the river in Bellevue, and Jungle Jim's. The edge goes to Party Source IMO.

Best stores in Cincy have already been mentioned, being Party Source and Jungle Jim's.

50 West Brewing Company is a favorite of mine for a bite to eat and some great beers. There is also Moerlein Lager House right next to Great American Ball Park, they have a good craft selection including several of their own brews, and their food is outstanding.

Go to Winks Bar and Grille or Tremont Taphouse in Cleveland after GLBC. Either one is a 5 minute cab from GLBC. You can walk from Winks to the ballpark. Taphouse is another 5 minute cab to the ballpark.

Taphouse doesn't update their online taplist.

    Here's Winks' taplist:

Those are your best 2 options downtown. I do not recommend hanging out on West 25th after GLBC as the other breweries/beer bars there are mediocre at best.

Wow, awesome advice guys! That Wink's tap list has me giddy.

The plan is to drive straight to Cleveland Thursday for the 12:30pm start, probably recover at the hotel room til 6 or so then go to GLBC then after that who knows.

Then Friday, probably get on the road at 12 for the 3.5 hour drive to Cincy...game starts at 7 so we'll most likely have some time to kill before the game. Then of course after.

How bad of an idea is it to wear a Cards hat there? ha

Looks like the Indians play at 12:30 on Thursday, and the Reds are at 7pm on Friday. You would be crazy, if you're driving down 71, not to stop at the Brew Kettle, as it's a couple of minutes off 71 in Strongsville. Crazy.

As a Cincinnatian, and a Reds fan, I hate the idea of anyone wearing a Cards hat anywhere, but you'll be fine. I go to a decent amount of Reds games, and I always see plenty of Cards fans at GABP when they come to town. You'll probably get a kick out of all the booing when Molina comes up to bat !

Hope you have a great time on your trip and especially in Cincy!

    GO REDS!!!

FYI, while you're at GABP, the best spot to grab a beer is the Grand Slam Stand, behind section 110-112. They have beers from MadTree (Cincy local...their psycHOPathy is a great IPA), Great Lakes, Bell's, Founders and several others.

    Cheers!

There is a parking lot inbetween GLBC's brewery and brewpub. You can park there for $2.50 on weekdays before 3 p.m. and catch a ride on their shuttle to the game for $1.00.
