I usually mix a BLC solution in an otherwise unused keg and push it through the lines using CO2. I could be wrong, but it seems like it would be more effective to recirculate it for a few minutes rather than simply running it through once and letting it go down the drain. To that end, I thought about using a March pump to circulate it.
    1. Will BLC hurt the pump?
    2. Can I use BLC to clean my plate chiller?
    3. Any other considerations/suggestions?
    4. Should I just switch to bottles?
    5. Am I over thinking this?

I see no problem in recirculating BLC with a pump. On the bottle it specifally says "for electric and hand pumps" and recommends to circulate for 15 minutes or longer for old lines. BLC is essentially potassium hydroxide and it's MSD is fairly tame (and this is for direct ingestion). The pump's material are stainless, silicone, and polysulfone which should shrug off BLC at diluted levels. No more danger to the plate chiller (all stainless) than a keg. Pump away.
