So I recently discovered GF's Citra Session. Love it! I want to try more citra hopped beers...the only other one i know of is Zombiedust (which i also love) but its hard to find and too expensive. Will you BAs please recommend other brews available in chicago?
    Thanks!

If $10 for a six pack is too expensive, you might have some trouble finding anything single hopped with citra

$10 is only if you can make it to the brewery. Otherwise op must be going to bad liquor stores and paying excessive prices for zd

$/oz you might be no better off with a bomber of PW or Rev even with ZD costing you $17.99. Not trying to be negative but great IPAs cost a premium these days. Sculpin 6er $14.99, 4 pack of NvU pint cans $12.99 (I think), Unsessionable/1zeNuff 6ers $14.99... Still better deals than most bomber IPAs, save Lagunitas...

Spiteful's Diggable has citra. I can't recommend it because I haven't tried it but they make really solid IPAs.

As others have pointed out, $10/6 pack is a tough price point to find for citra-hopped beers. If you can find Fist City, by Revolution, that might be a good one to check out.

I second Todd the Axeman; while it's also got Mosaic hops (which you can really taste), the citra still comes through, the beer is delicious, and the price is right.

If you get a chance to go to Half-Acre brewery taproom, their Space IPA is a very solid Citra hopped brew. Unfortunately they don't bottle it. You can however get it in a growler or howler to take home or drink at the tap room (they accept howlers & growlers other than their own, or you can purchase one of theirs if you don't already have one).

I believe the poster was referring to Pale Ales or IPA's showcasing the citra hop. Saison's have low IBUs and often the yeast is the star of show, not the hop.

I can it's solid. I haven't had a bad beer from Spiteful. I think it's because they're small with limited distribution, that their beer doesn't sit on shelves very long. If it's on the shelf, it's probably days or a week old. Some places in the city will have cans/bottles that were literally filled hours earlier. That's fresh!

It is a Pipeworks Saison. It even says on the label, "generously hopped." The hop is quite apparent in the taste. Therefore, my suggestion is great. Also, OP asked for citra hopped beers.

I may be mistaken, perhaps you can help me find my way... but I believe Pipeworks Citra Saison may actually qualify as a beer. It contains hops, malt, yeast, and water. It went through some sort of fermentation.
