I am brewing a double brown ale which I fortified with a lb. of raw honey. In addition, I dry-hopped with 3 oz. of Citra hops. I am after a malty imperial brown with a big tropical nose. Do you think I may have gone overboard with the amount of Citra?
More malt would have been a better choice than honey if Malty is your goal. Honey will make a thinner, less malty beer as compared to a beer of similar overall gravity that doesn't use honey. Depends on how big a nose you're looking for, I guess. To me, 3 ounces sounds like a lot for a (presumably) 5 gallon batch of brown ale.
I think that might be pushing the limits for dry hopping a brown ale with any hop. But since it is Citra.....it has to be good!
Of all the aroma hops that I have used (and it has been many) Citra hops have been the most potent. Please report back your results with this beer. Cheers!

Not knowing what your numbers are. That seems either like a lot of honey, or too much citra because I don't know what your numbers are. Malty and a pound of honey are not going to be the easiest of mates in your agreement you have arranged with this imperial brown.
