Citra is brewing

Get me off this emotional roller coaster.

 

I just killed my last Citra showers, so this is great news.

 

So was there like a lottery last year or something?

Do i have to make a ten minute video about why i deserve to go and then pay $75 dollars and send my graduate school references and make a diorama of me homebrewing and wallowing in self pity to get a chance to buy a bottle?

Nothing that complex...just submit proof of your PhD in a STEM field and a 3 minute video of you frolicking through hop fields, set to music by your favorite French shoegaze band.

Here's the thread with the info from the last release, but the gist of it is that you enter a raffle via BPT, if you're selected you buy your bottles via BPT, then you had roughly a week to pick them up at the brewery. The last release was the first with a raffle, so they may tweak the logistics for this one, but I would expect it to be a similar structure.

 

I kinda like the lotto idea. I would love to make a trip out to KR but want to time it with a release. I also do not want to camp out and spend 9 hours waiting/battling in line at midnight. I'll put my name in the hat, if it works out I am happy to make the drive, if not I'll likely have till FWI again. It makes for a much more organized release. It is sort of a bummer for the local population but they are able to take advantage of it on tap while it is there much more easily.

 

Citra is always brewing just before SFBW (Dbl IPA Fest, etc)... like clock work son!

 

exactly. And the lotto system worked amazingly well. I am all for it again.

 

I did not put my name in for the last Citra lottery. I will this time. And hope they will have bottles of JO and Class V available. I heard no bottles of JO or anything else was available on the last Citra release. Thanks to a good BA bud who did win the lottery and got 6 bottles of this citra-licious delight I got a bottle from him and I thought it was the best release yet.

 

yeah i know. but ive had most of them. im a completionist.

 

After finding it on the shelf after the last release I think I'll just assume it'll get distributed down here again..

I believe that he is saying that you are better off banging a 7 rather than chasing a 10 with plastic surgery.

 

But man, that 10 with plastic surgery does this trick with their tongue that makes the drive through Bakersfield so worth it.

This is just a single batch (7bbl). It will be draft only no growlers. We will be doing a larger batch later this month that will be bottled; at least that is the plan.

Good enough excuse to get some camping done in Kern, I'd say.

 

Anyone else here try it last year during SFBW? A shadow of its former self. I heard the quality was up during the FWI, but I wasn't there to try it.
