Citrus forward IPAs

    I mention this beer a lot but Carton Boat beer is a very citrus-y session IPA.

    Agreed, and the layers of citrus flavor this beer has is amazing. Love Carton Boat.

    Yeah honestly I find Jai Alai not to be that citrusy. And this isn't people naming favorite IPAs/everyone's palate is different... some beers definitely are more on the piney side rather than the citrusy side.

    Some of my favorites: Tree House Curiosity Four (wow just wow), Heady, Abner, NEBCO Coriolis, Zombie Dust, Dale's Pale, Abrasive, Double Sunshine, Cafe Racer 15, Pernament Funeral, Sculpin, and many of the Pipeworks Unicorn series.

    Total pine bomb dude I agree, not much citrus at all... maybe in the nose but not much in flavor

    Agree, just had Jai Alai in Philly and it didn't bring the Citrus…muddy and earthy; maybe had a funky can. I did really dig their "Dry Hopped on the High Seas"…damn that had tons of citrus and fruit…delicious. Also Founders Harvest, and just had NODA Brewing's (Charlotte, NC) Hop Drop N Roll this week…dear lord that was a great citrus flavored IPA…they are canning year round; put it on your list for any NC/SC area visits or CLT airport stopovers as it's on tap their as well.

    I cant keep answering these threads I retire. Nobody will get to know my favorite IPA, year round IPA, underrated IPA, overrated IPA, bargain IPA or most citrusy IPA.

    Maybe? I picked up a case at the brewery last April, felt it had quite a bit of fruity hops, if not citrusy hops.

    I think you definitely got a bad can... at its best, Jai Alai has huge tropical fruit, citrus, and even some peach backed by pine. Bummer that yours didn't exhibit those qualities.

    If you really like citrus, try a bottle of Frog's Breath IPA, which is brewed with citrus peel and spices. Definitely falls outside of the typical IPA flavor profile but also a citrus bomb.
