Citrus forward IPAs

I've posted this already, but when Heady is fresh, it's almost like someone dipped a pineapple in battery acid and squeezed it into a can.

 

I just discovered Societe Brewing (San Diego) The Pupil. It is amazing. My wife tried it and said "if the sun made beer, this is what it would taste like". There's a flavor I seek in my beers I've coined "glow" it's just that amazing perfect ecstasy of perfect balance of hops malt and everything where it just glows... The Pupil does that like few other beers. Other examples include the Stone Enjoy By series and Alpine True Hoppiness. Does anyone else know what I mean by "glow"? Any other examples that have it?

Non -ipa drinker here, but what is the difference between fruity and citrusy? Fruity implies sweeter and citrusy implies more tart?

 

Finally tried Jai Alai...Good God Grapefruit!

 

Now you did it!!! And I don't mean bringing on the "Jai Alai Defenders," I mean now you REALLY put Westbrook's IPA on my radar.

Completely agree. Especially in the canned Hop Notch.

A lot of citrus IPAs are full of pine too. Here are some that I get mainly citrus with:

Port Hop 15
Avery Maharaja
Port Mongo (tropical flavors)
Ballast Point Big Eye

 

Summit Saga, White Raja

 

I haven't seen it in 2 years but Toppling Goliaths millennium falcon was a complete grape fruit bomb. Delicious!!!
