City Acre Brewing

I had to look, but I haven't been out there since Oktoberfest last year. As of a month ago, sounds like they're still fighting permit issues.

 

How far of a drive is it, really. 30-40 min? An hour? Their website claims 12 min from downtown.

If a brewery opened up within an hour of my house, I might actually piss my pants with excitement. I guess it's just a matter of perspective.

Nice property, great yard for good weather, cool house to chill in. You'd probably drive out there to hang for a bit, not just a pint and take off again.

 

Yeah, it looks pretty sweet. Wish I still lived in Houston. My nearest brewery is 2.5 hours away.

 

It appears that yesterday they had some kind of industry event. I saw tweets from Kevin Floyd talking about trying some of their beers.

So I'd guess they're still alive.

 

Yeah, he was drinking a pumpkin stout. Maybe we'll have a Pumpkinator rival at a brewpub that the whalebros can't hoard.

 

Not much of an update here, other than "red tape" has been holding them up. But that City Acre pumpkin stout we saw Kevin Floyd drinking on twitter was part of one of those culinary tours that visited the brewery.
