The quality and hype continue on a downward trend...seriously Invasive makes way better beers...even the 3 Sons IPAs are better than most what Civil puts out...

Any thoughts on Banditos de Fuego, the collab with 3 Sons?

Does anyone know what happened to these guys? They haven’t released a new beer since mid-July. Their taproom, which normally has ~15 taps, has been running 5 or 6 taps over the same time period. What’s worse, the last can they released, playing through, was just shy of complete garbage. They haven’t released a single sour in south Florida all summer. They have two breweries 20 minutes from each other, and it takes you 8 weeks to release cans? Why aren’t they brewing anymore beer? What’s up?

Was excited to try them at a beer fest last weekend as I've never had them yet. Also I remember hearing quite some hype early on. WOOOOF. 1 of them was "trust issues," and I can't remember the other but they were definitely the worst of the fest. I guess hype has died.

Was just gonna come here and ask the same question. Super odd. They’ve had some QC issues (IMO ive noticed a lot of diacetyl and oxidation in their cans) but if it was a canning line issues they would still be putting out new stuff on draft

Little social media presence, no can releases...so sad they were the best brewery in South Florida for a short moment...

They’ve been doing a lot of collabs it seems and they’ve done some painting/slight change in branding in the Jupiter location. Hinted at some upcoming changes on social media. Hoping that means they’re gearing up for something. Taplist in Jupiter has been weak for sure, although meatloaf still on which is amazing. I also enjoyed trust issues.

When I visit family in FL I try to stop in the Jupiter location, hoping it's just been a slow Summer for them and not a sign of trouble.

Heading down to Palm Beach later this week. Shocked that a Brewery of CS quality doesn't get more talk here on BA. Anyone know if their 4th Anniversary party on Saturday will sell out? Can you walk up at noon and buy tix or is that wishful thinking? Brewery guest list looks pretty damn good so I would imagine this will be a well attended event. Any insight to this Anniversary Party (or how well run past Anny parties have been) is appreciated as I have not attended any of their parties yet.

Pretty sure you can buy tickets on site and GA won't sell out. Brewery/tap list has been solid the past few years (I've been to each anniversary). Two years ago there were some complaints that some of the higher demand stuff kicked quickly but last year it seemed to last longer and honestly, there are so many choices and you can never have everything. None of Civil's stuff ran out and there were great options (other half, bissell bros, Wakefield, Great Notion, etc) until the end. The street itself is open to the public as are the other stores/restaurants on the street so it's gets crowded in the later afternoon but there were few lines for most of the beer.

Is IG the only place the tap list is posted?

I believe so. I haven't found the list on their website. You'd figure they would post it on their website as well as instagram. Not everyone uses instagram.

Anyway, besides the big boys which will have long lines (Angry Chair, Trillium, Bottle Logic, etc..) anyone know of any breweries that will be bringing any gems that most people have never heard of? I'm looking the the list of breweries and beers they are bringing and trying to compile a list of beers I want to try.

I was trying to do the same but they are making it difficult by only posting the list on IG photos. Honestly I'm surprised there is not more chatter about the festival in general. Interest appears to be low.

I went the last 2 years and it was my favorite day of the year. Better than Hunahpu’s day because of how relaxed it was and manageable the space is.

I’m disappointed to not be able to make it this year, but after the tap lists came out it doesn’t look quite as stacked as the last years. But it could also be perception after another of year of drinking amazing beer so the allure of certain beers is diminishing.

The Equilibrium guys said they brought a ton of bottles in addition to their draft so if I was going I’d make sure I swing by their tent a few times to see what goodies they will be popping throughout the day.

Your post helps get me in a better place, because I was afraid of logistical issues when I read the street is not closed for the event. I just don't remember the area being very large so I was afraid it would just be a bunch of people crammed like sardines. You saying you enjoy it more than huna holds weight because I have always enjoyed Huna minus the weather and lack of water.

In comparison to Huna how are wait times? And how quick are more sought after beers kicking?

    EDIT

One additional question, how and when do you go about purchasing cans that day?

Wait times are almost nonexistent. If there is a wait it’s nothing compared to Huna. In the past 3 Sons and AC have had lines, but not like Huna.

As far as cans I’ve only ever had the ticket that includes them so I’d just pick them up at the designated area. Not sure about extra purchases.

Was there last two years and last year there didn't seem to be as many people there so the lines weren't bad at all in my opinion. If you want to try any of the popular breweries like Angry Chair, Wakefield, Trillium, Bottle Logic, etc... you need to get in line early for that. They will tap early since most only seem to bring 5 gallon kegs. The lines for those breweries are long but I don't remember them being as long as the Huna lines. But you should have no problem getting most of the other beers.

I would suggest pacing yourself. I literally got hammered last year since the lines were so short I was just pounding back beer after beer without pacing myself. Usually I don't get hammered at beer fests since the lines are so long, but last year was a different story. Plus, the pours are small but after drinking a ton of 10%+ beers it catches up to you. This year I'm going to be more conscious of how much I drink, drink more water, and take a break if needed.

As far as cans/bottles go, I believe you need to have purchased VIP to receive any the Anniversary cans and Special bottles they have. Don't remember them selling cans after the fest too. I think they closed early last year.

Hey all, quick question. A buddy and I are heading down to Florida for Wakefest and we are planning on hitting up CS on Friday. Is one location better than the other? Are cans/bottles typically available at either location? Sorry if this has already been brought up.

Their website is usually up to date regarding available cans and draft. The wpb location is a lot larger space wise but that’s about it. They generally have very similar can/draft availability.
