I picked up some cans of flan this weekend. They have been excellent. I wished I would have grabbed more.

FLAN is great on tap and out of the cans, wish I would have grabbed another 4 pack.

For anymore wondering about the name of the beer, this is was CS told me "The owner and head brewer of LIC is a graffiti artist in NYC, FLAN is his tag name."

The brewery stated that some of the sanitizer wasn't completely washed off before filling the cans which lead to carb issues and off flavors. I haven't had a bad can from them in many many releases. Sucks for those still bent up cuz they've been crushing it lately!

Went over the weekend, sub 10 & sub 11 are on. Sub 10 is tangerine juice, really crushable. Sub 11 is also quite good.

On a side note, pretty cool that USA today (10 best) gave them and 19 other Breweries some recognition for best new brewery. Vote civil, .

Whoa, guys. I hope those who are local know how good they have it and support these guys. I am visiting from Massachusetts, Trillium IPAs are pretty much all I drink unless I fall into some Treehouse, Alchemist, or Lawson's cans, and the beers I sampled at Civil Society today (Fresh, Flan, 7th Wonder) were in the conversation with any of those vaunted New England brews.

Granted it was a weekday afternoon and Spring Training hasn't really gotten going, but there weren't more than 6 other people in there when I was there, and they were still selling cans from the 1/31 release - good for me to get Flan and Blondes Make Me Hoppy with Mosaic to take home, but surprising these don't get snapped up right away. Certainly a major step up from my usual go to of Jai Alai cans when I am down here.

Yeah went there and only had an hour in December so I got 2 oz pours of almost everything...was blown away. Would be stoked if I was a local.

The batch of Pulp they have on right now is maybe the best since batch one. Just awesome.

From social media, IPAs are cans, stouts bottled:

This weekend is going to be crazy! We've got four different beers we'll be releasing!

    1. Snacktime (6.5%) this Chocolate IPA was brewed with our good friends at Finback Brewery and was hopped with Amarillo, Columbus and Mosaic.

    2. Can't Touch This (7.2%) brewed with our buddies at Southern Grist Brewing Co this IPA was brewed with flaked maize and hopped intensely with Vic Secret, Galaxy, Motueka and Simcoe Lupulin Powder.

    3. BA King Gary Goes Bananas (10%) an Imperial Milk Stout, think Banana Fosters and Coffee.

    4. Bella's Revenge (9%) an Imperial Stout brewed with BA Maple Syrup from Single Barrel Cellar and Coffee from Mostra Coffee

Starting at 11am this Saturday 2/25. Pricing and limits will be posted tomorrow.

Just wanna say, as an Ohio guy, I love CS. We visit the area 3-5 times per year and try to hit as many breweries as possible and this was for sure a standout.

While there in Dec, I tried about everything on the menu and brought home a 4pk of Ballina, which was fantastic, actually somehow getting even better with almost a month of age on the last can I drank.

After that, I got Pulp and DDH ES in a trade and both were way way over-carb'd. Didn't matter too much fresh, as both still tasted great, but a month in and the last couple DDH ES were getting all kinds of off flavors.

Canning/Bottling consistency is so tough though, so I don't sweat it. They make great beer and I'll keep trying to trade for more of it!

The best of the stuff I've had from CS has definitely help it's own with our local "hype machine" Hoof Hearted. Both make insanely delicious beer.
