I know this was just released, but I was curious what other sours will be trading for this (Upland, RR, Lost Abbey, etc.)...not sure if it has even been sampled enough to determine, preliminary cost looks like $15/bottle...thanks
Gold just one Gold at GABF. It has that going for it. I bet it's yet another outstanding, small batch CL sour that will not hold much value on here.
I think the silent releases have eased some of the hysteria that have surrounded recent releases...If this one is 1/2 as good as his others, it should have some value...I haven't traded before, but have been interested in trading for some stuff I can't get locally, not necessarily limited, but unavailable to me.
Considering that it sold out in less than a day and there were supposedly only 240 bottles, this one might end up trading for a little more than the other Barrel Select series beers...
Crazy, it did have a high bottle limit for such a small batch, could have done 1 or 3 and stretched it out, but, hey, it's their beer. Hopefully some was held back or is destined for some other "treatments"...
Is there a particular reason why this is? They make sour beers that are brewery exclusive, go fast, and get rave reviews. I don't get it. Anyways, I'm getting two bottles of Gold Select for Founders Furniture Stock Ale and Bolt Cutter. Edit: If anybody has some of their other barrel select beers for trade, PM me and we'll work something out.
Considering assumed quality, the hype that this thread will give it, awards, bottle count and price.....I'd say you're looking at it being worth about one King Henry. I know, I know, it isn't a sour. But, dude, it was aged in Rare barrels.
If anyone reading this thread happens to have a Barrel Select Gold for trade please contact me and I'm sure we can work something out. Doing a Barrel Select vertical / horizontal / whathaveyou for my birthday tasting in November, and of course Captain Lawrence had to go release this beforehand Cheers!
