We've been quiet on the site update front, but we've very busy in the background and have a couple of big updates to share.

    New Admin Tools
@Mike has been designing, coding and rolling out new admin tools to keep our beer data as clean and tidy as possible. Before this updates were beyond cumbersome and resulted in frustration and a lot of shit simply not being handled. But no more.
    • Add, merge and soft delete (nondestructive) beers.
    • Merge or soft delete any related ratings and reviews upon merge.
    • Log and track everything with the ability to revert.
Late last year site editors (volunteer users who help out with our listings) were granted access for testing, and I'm stoked to announce that the massive beer change queue has been cleared thanks to @dbrauneis @MasterSki @UncleJimbo and @slander. And new update requests are now being handled in a timely manner.

What about places? In addition to adding even more functionality (like a better image uploader), we'll eventually be extending all of this to our places database, too.

    Claim Page Beta
In parallel to this, and due to high demand, we've also been working on a system to allow businesses to claim their page on BeerAdvocate and manage related data. A beta version of the authentication system is now open to brewers to test, and once we're happy with the results we'll begin rolling out access to the new admin tools. In the meantime, updates should be made using the links under the "Tools" sidebar that appears on all beer and place pages.

    How to Claim Your Page
Interested in joining the beta test?
    1. Ensure that you have access to email via your brewery's domain (e.g., yourbreweryname.com). Third party service domains (e.g., blog, hosting site, social media, etc.) don't qualify.
    2. Log in or Sign Up here on BA.
    3. Check that your brewery is in our database. Head to Places to search for or add it.
    4. Follow the link and subsequent instructions under the "Claim Page" sidebar on your brewery's page.
    5. Upon success, you'll gain access to our Industry forum where you'll learn more. We'll keep you posted on our progress, too.
Note: Testing is open to only brewery pages at this time.

All of this has been a long time coming, so I'd like to publicly thank everyone who helped make it happen.

Thanks, this is great! Upon doing the free verification by phone, it is telling me that there is an error and "Number has already been verified." Yet it looks like I cannot proceed on to other instructions or the Industry forum.

Cool ideas which should improve the accuracy of the data. Too many times beer additions have been mis-entered, leading to duplicate beers being added in the confusion. Hopefully the breweries take the time to get familiar with the BA site too.

Do you have an update? Are breweries claiming their pages and beginning to manage their data?

Not at this time. But, as always, we'll post additional updates when we're ready.

Is it possible for more than one person to claim a brewery page?

Not yet, but we do plan on adding the ability to add/manage employees and delegate tasks.

The suggested email address does not match up with our brewery's actual email address. Therefore, it won't let me claim the page. Any suggestions on that?
Thanks for all the hard work on this!

Report an Update and we'll change your brewery domain to the proper one.
