As I was considering buying a kegerator and browsing Craigslist for a used one, I had the though of "why not a classified section on BA?" No beer allowed to be sold, but why not have the opportunity to list and sell (or buy) unwanted brewing equipment, kegerator/fridges, bar signs/deco, etc... Thoughts? Opinions?
I'd rather not have it. There are plenty of other ways to sell online and locally. We already have enough "bad trader" threads. Imagine what kind of shitstorms would happen if people started getting screwed over buying and selling on this site. Edit: Also, where there's classifieds, there's Nigerians.
I agree, but most things would be bought in person - with cash. I don't expect some kind of payment system to be set up on here or anything. Pretty much like a craigslist - For example: I have an empty keg in the Pittsburgh area. If interested, contact me to meet up with me here or come to my house.
With as much traffic as BA sees, this will not be the case in countless instances. It would be a nightmare without dedicated, full-time moderation.
Fair enough. It was just an idea that popped into my head. Not saying that is full proof by any means.
How would it be any more of a 'nightmare' than the trading section? Same 'trade at your own risk' philosophy would seem to work.
