Great thread. And boy, this is near and dear to my heart! I can not think of how disappointing it is to order a much anticipated beer only to have it come to me and taste an impure line. I always feel like the beer was ran thru a Randal filled with rotten celery and rutabagas.

Consumers can and are changing this!! Here are some of the reasons lines get infected quickly:

-Improper pour such as touching a dirty glass to the facet.
-Not cleaning at least every two weeks, and cleaning, as mentioned means tearing EVERYTHING apart and brushing it.
-Not using your nipples! Say what....I mean beer facet nipples. Small flies that spend most of the day in garbage and restrooms come out at night, and guess what, they are addicted to hops as well so up the facets they go for a drink, the little shit-leggers.
-Brass is the enemy. Stainless steel only should be used in the contact of beer serving.

As consumers you can help with suggestion and knowledge sharing to your favorite accounts.

We will all benefit from it. Thanks for the thread.
