I have used Barkeeper's Friend to clean an old, abused keg that I turned into my kettle. It was filthy and BF was the only thing that worked to bring it back to a shine. My question is, should I boil some water in the kettle for an extended amount of time (1 hr) and drain before brew day?

    Any insights would be great.
    Cheers

I use it on my brew kettle after each session. I just rinse it well and dry it. Never noticed any off flavors.

    Cheers!

I haven't used it on brewing equipment, but we use it all the time on our cookware and haven't had issues with a thorough rinse.

it's just oxalic acid which iirc can give you the runs if you ingest too much of it but i think that is the worst it can do if you don't do a good job rinsing. I could be wrong though...
