I threw it out, but I'm still curious. I had a plastic fermenter get contaminated with something. There had been funk. So i cleaned it with dish soap and hot water and bleached it with diluted bleach. I put another beer in there and it got funky, too. Could something have survived the bleach?
What was your bleach to water ratio? How long did you let the water/bleach solution 'sit'? Are there a lot of scratches in the plastic fermenter? Cheers!
It was a fairly new bug mouth bubbler carboy. But your point is well taken that it could be scratched. I can't remember how much bleach i used. Not helpful i know, this is just stuck in my craw as I am using another plastic fermenter right now.
