Didn't see a thread dedicated to Cleveland Beer Week. I wasn't able to attend many events last year. Would love to get some opinions from folks that have been in past years. What are some can't miss events? Things to skip? What's the story with Brewzilla? Are things like Cantillon night at Lizardville a total shit-show?

    Thanks guys! Can't wait.

I'm probably going to do the oyster thing w my wife and a few things around me(Brew Kettle,Fat Head's, etc.), but will skip the big stuff, as usual. I would be shocked if the Cantillon flight at LV isn't a shit show, but maybe you will get lucky.

Also curious if Brewzilla is worth the price of admission. For me, Cantillon Night at Lakewood Lizardville and Three Floyds Night at Oak Barrel are the can't miss events. I'd probably throw in Stout night as well which is at Deagans.

Deagan's Stout night is really worth it... Went last year. It was the same night that GL Christmas Ale was released, so it was not very crowded at all and a blast.

I worked Brewzilla last year. Not sure about the location this year as it was in the Galleria last year. It was packed, even in that space. I already had most of the beers, but there were some local breweries that made special batches for it. The VIP area had good stuff.

Have been to a couple events at Lizardville, not sure how this one will go.

Oak Barrel is just around the corner from where I work, so probably hitting 3F.

Also the Bodhi thing with Rozis and Deagan's should be fun.

I believe WoB will be the final stop of the Sam Adams tasting with their limited edition (Can't recall the name of it.)

I always enjoyed Brewzilla. Didn't go last year but attended the prior 3. Lots of people but never really waited for beer. Always went VIP and always thought I got my moneys worth. Big attraction for me though was getting to try a bunch of Ohio and Midwest stuff we don't get here in PA, although was disappointed Jackie O's was never there. Considered going again this year to check out the new venue but honestly thought the list looked a little thin. Cleveland has really become a great beer city.

The Bodhi event at Rozi's/Deagan's is the can't miss event of the week for me. Cannot wait.

So many great events. The BA Stout night at WL tomorrow night also caught my eye. I'm hoping with so many other things going on, it won't be mobbed. Culture Yourself at the Market also sounds cool, even if the beer list isn't all that impressive. I'm iffy on Brewzilla. But it does sound like fun. I'll need to detox on the 20th!

Lillys in Tremont pulled a bunch of bottles out of their cellar. Some 2-3 year old stuff. They're also making pumpkin beer ice cream floats. Very good.

Saw that! Stopped in with the gf yesterday. She got chocolates and I grabbed a cellared FFF Sun Stout, was a win-win lol. They had a ton of other great stuff on the shelf too.

Lilly's is great, it flies under the radar a bit, being a chocolatier. The staff is great & it's a nice place to take the woman in your life that caters to expensive well made chocolates. While you put together a small mix six from the equally small mix of singles on hand that will look tiny price wise in comparison to the chocolates she'll want to purchase..."Yeah, who has a pricey habit now?"

Anyone heading to Fat Heads tomorrow? Would love to share a pint of Hop Stalker with a fellow BA.

Fantastic selection of brews at Fat Heads Taproom tonight. The Hop Stalker was my favorite and my wife loved the Tweaked Out Hippy Sippy. Bonus to have the HS release on Wed with discount growlers and $5 brats. Despite the tables being full, the service was excellent. Nice job Fat Heads!

I agree, but my two favorites of the afternoon were the fat devil black/IPA/lager and the imperial up in smoke. The fat devil had so much flavor for a 6% brew. The up in smoke was the opposite - goes down too easy for a 9% porter. I prefer it to the stone and founders smoked porters. Looked like they had a good amount of hop stalker in the store, but was going fast.

Did anybody go to Rozis/Deagans or Oak Barrel last night? For some reason, I thought both were today. Bummed that I missed them.

Went to Oak Barrel, got a table at 5:30 and ordered our beers at 6:00 (when you could order Three Floyds). After no beers and no appetizers for an hour, we got a tray of all wrong beers (like 4 pints of Robert the Bruce and a sampler of Yum Yum when we wanted a BrooDoo and a Zombie Dust). Got up and left - I like Three Floyds but honestly it's getting easier to score bottles, I've had everything they send to Ohio and, after having a few Hop Stalkers earlier, it's not worth waiting hours for when we have so many awesome local beers that honestly taste better. I hope they never do that sort of an event again, as Oak Barrel is a great place for food...more bummed about missing the food and having to put up with the unbelievably shitty service than bummed about the beer.

Heard the Deagan's event was fun and it was probably the least stressful option.

The Rozi's/Deagan's Bodhi-palooza was fantastic. Deagan's was incredibly crowded so I only stayed there for a quick beer. I think I preferred the pineapple to the grapefruit, but they were both awesome.

EDIT: I forgot to mention how amazing the Yakima Fresh Hop was. It may have been my favorite out of the beers I had last night.
