Going on a road trip to cleveland next week, any one know of any good bars or brewerys in the area that I should hit up? Plus what are some good local brews I should try?

Fat Head's, Beer Engine, GLBC, Brew Kettle are all great and located on the west side of town/ west suburbs. Market Garden Brewery is so so, but right across the street from Great lakes. Cornerstone brewery is out by the airport and does solid beer/good food. Best places on the east side are Lizardville and Willoughby Brewing, with La Cav Du Vin not far behind.

As far as the local beers go, it depends what you like. Fat Head's Head Hunter is the best IPA out there IMO and BK White Rajah is great also. Hit GLBC and Fat head's for fresh lagers(much better at the pub than in bottle). You also may find some Columbus stuff on tap, most of their stuff is very good. if you get out to Willoughby, the Peanut Butter Cup Coffee Porter is outstanding.

Great Lakes is cool but very crowded and they dont have much you cant get everywhere else.

Market Garden has a really nice atmosphere but the beer is pretty meh. They do also have lots of local guest taps, though.

Fat Head's is about a 20 minute drive from downtown, IIRC. Nice place, lots of good brews and a bunch of guest taps as well. I think the Beer Engine was about 10 minutes away, though I didnt stop in. It's right near Rozi's, which is a great beer/liquor store. Extremely nice people there and a good selection.
