Hi, I'm visiting friends in Solon, and will be in Cleveland proper this afternoon. We are planning on hitting Great Lakes and if possible Fat Heads. How far is Fat Heads from Great Lakes? Does Fat Heads sell bottles to go or is it taproom only? Also, what bottle shop should I hit in Cleveland or Solon? Thanks!
Fat Heads is about 20-30min from Great Lakes. Its not tough to get to. Get on 71 south, merge onto 480W to Toledo and get off at Great Northern Blvd. Hang a right on Lorain and it will be less than a mile down the road on the right on the corner of Columbia and Lorain. However they don't sell bottles there. Only at the brewery in Middleburg Hts.
Lizardville in Bedford Hts. is your best bet.. it's not far from Solon at all.. and they always have great stuff on-tap and a great bottle selection. There's a beverage store on W.25th right across from Nano Brew(two minute walk from Great Lakes). I have not been there yet, but it's called Ohio City Beverage. If you go, let us know if it's worth a shit.
Chuck's is cool, but isn't as special as it once was, IMHO.. there's no reason to really go out of the way to stop there imo..
We checked out Ohio city beverage. Don't waste your time it's just a convenience store with a very small and basic selection. Gonna head up to Lizardville
