Yep, Fat Head's is the best in town and there are two locations now. Great Lakes is good too and The Brew Kettle is worth a stop. If you are up for a little drive, JAFB in Wooster is putting out some great, under the radar beer. If you want to hit a great beer bar with good food, go to Tremont Tap House.

I would also recommend Willoughby Brewing if you are around the area or willing to drive.

Rozi's, Simone's, and Ross Craft Beers in Lakewood are all great bottle shops in addition to the ones already mentioned. The W. 25th area is also a great spot since it has Great Lakes, Market Garden, Bier Markt, and Nano Brew. Tremont Tap House is only a few minutes away as well. Fat Heads in North Olmsted is definitely a must for beer and food.

Fat Heads is great but be careful if you go Friday or Saturday night it will be very very crowded. If you on the west side Rock River Brewing Co. is good and have good food too. All the stuff previously mentioned in Ohio City (GLBC, market garden and nano) are great.

I second lizardville as the go to bottle shop

This can be mitigated if you go to the Middleburg Heights location. Limited menu and shorter hours, but I like it better than N. Olmsted.

The Middleburg location is pretty cool, but the North Olmsted location has A TON more one-offs that are amazing. Their hop mania triple IPA, thin mint stout, chocolate swirl, tweaked out hippy sippy, etc...are all amazing. I would check the tap list of the NO location first to see if they have anything special like what I mentioned. If not, the Middleburg location is a pretty cool spot to check out. I actually like their pizzas a lot more than the NO location.

Tweaked Out Hippy Sippy was actually at the Tap House first... they both have one offs. Only thing the Tap House doesn't have is cask beer.

Edit: One other thing is, I don't think they North Olmsted location sells bottle/cans to go anymore. So if someone wants Trail Head, they have to go to the Tap House or hope to find it in a store.

I didn't realize the tweaked out hippy sippy was at the taphouse as well. Well, the NO location still has a lot more one-offs and a lot more beers on tap, including guest beers.

That's a good point about beer to go. I really hope breweries can work with the state to fix the license issue regarding selling beer that wasn't produced on-site.

Well, the Tap House has 16 taps, but you have a point about guest beer. But I usually stick with FH's beer anyway, unless I see a good Jackie O's or JABF beer on the board.

I used to go to North Olmsted twice a week, now I go twice a month and hit the tap house instead. I don't like the crowds.

I used to work in Middleburg about 5 minutes from their tap house, but only went there a few times. I've recently changed jobs and work on the east side now. It kinda stinks not being able to go there so easily!

I was told by somebody high up the food chain that they are looking at a place in Ohio City. Don't know if or when it will happen, but they want to open down there.

If you hit Willoughby it looks their Peanut Butter Porter is on draft. If it is available for growlers, maybe one for your favorite gumpy looking West Palm Beacher?
