Does anyone have a way to troubleshoot pellet matter clogging up the dip tube and post? I don't have a spare keg to use so that option is out. It is super frustrating, I get about .5 ounce before it clogs up again. TIA !

Probably not the best solution, but I've in the past blasted some air into the out post (turn on air at higher pressure than what's in the keg prior to attaching) and then once the sediment re-settles I ran some beer through the lines at a fairly high pressure (18ish PSI).

the hops get back into the dip tube after you blast? how many ounce of pellet hops did you dry hop with? assuming you didnt use a bag?

hmmm. I have a feeling the bag opened somehow if you are still getting hop matter in the tube. you can try turning the keg on its side and pushing the air in through the "out" and get the liquid out through the "in." this may be a last ditch effort, but if you do it, just make sure to switch the disconnects. also make sure the "in" is closest to the floor.

[IMG] The only thing that works for sure is a shortened dip tube.

Try chilling as low as you can go, then turn down your serving pressure as low as you dare to go when pouring. Good luck.

I'd let it settle for a day, then rack the beer back into a clean fermenting vessel temporarily. Wash out the keg and dip tube, sanitize again, and rack the beer back into the keg. Why worry about the oxidation risks from the multiple racking transfers if you can't even enjoy a pint as it sits now?

Chill, and let it settle a bit... You could also pull the dip tube and bend it a touch to the pick up is slightly higher.. I'd do that over blasting air through my beer.

It's really the poppet valve that gets clogged and not the dip tube itself. Remove the whole connection, place some tubing over opening and blow that shit out of there. You may waste some beer but it should get you flowing again.

I did it several times, history kept repeating itself. Finally got it going after about a half dozen tries

I had a very similar experience with raspberries. It seemed never ending but it eventually got flowing as well.

That's the reason I never add raspberries to the keg. Also, I hate raspberries.

    I had this same issue. First time dry-hopping didn't use a bag . . .

I tried the CO2 in the liquid post many many times. I ended up having to transfer to another keg.

Glad you got yours figured out!
