Anyone know of a clone recipe for Julius? Extract?

From what I've just recently found out, Treehouse is very tight-lipped about sharing their recipes. I'd google 'NE-style IPA recipe' and try to build on that. Vibrant, juicy hops are a must.

I've devoted a lot of time looking online for Julius recipes and found little consistency. Mixed with some inconsistency in statements made about the hops being used by people supposedly with TH, I don't think there is much solid information to go off of.

But a typical NE-IPA recipe almost entirely bombed with very late addition citrusy hops and a yeast like Conan or 1318 will likely get you in the ballpark.

London 1318 and lots of citra hops maybe complimented by Amarillo and cascade? Experiment and let us know.

Refer to any of the neipa threads for inspiration, but treehouse is very tight lipped about their beer.

I saw that, the article specifically states the recipe was for that bit, I assume it's something he made up.

So last weekend I was up in Burlington and had a Sip of Sunshine next to a Heady Topper and SOS was much clearer than Heady…Chico vs. Conan yeast. Julius to my recollection is definitely more turbid than Heady…so concur, I would have a hard time believing TH is using a Chico strain…maybe Anchor's strain? I have some 1272 I've been meaning to try side-by-side with Conan or Boddington.

Not sure on the hops, but if you want to brew in that "style" I recommend:

~10% wheat, ~8% oats, lower IBU, lots of late hops (FO and/or whirlpool), 1318 or Conan yeast, at least 1oz/gal dryhop with half of that being added as primary ferm slows (yeast biotransformation).

If kegging, I recommend letting it condition for a couple weeks while carbonating (no shaking, jacking up PSI, etc.). I have a batch currently in a keg and it's tasting great. Extremely juicy and soft on the palate.

I think they just put a bunch of Citra and Centennial pellets in actual orange julius, carb it and keg or can it. @DigitalNate can probably confirm this.

Tapped my latest NE-IPA style last week (galaxy) and it's drinking fantastic! This one is only 8% oats with Conan yeast.

Would you care to share your recipe? I am wanting to try this same style but i am looking for some good framework!

Vikeman's Averagely Perfect NE IPA is my avatar pic. I feel like that recipe is very close to Tree House-type IPAs. Definitely not claiming mine was at Tree House level.

I brewed the Treehouse Hoppy Things recipe (shown below)

This recipe calls for honey malt which seemed pretty powerful in my finished brew. This came out malty. It was good but I haven't had a Tree House beer like this. Maybe similar to "Ma" but that's an amber ale.

For my next attempt I'm going to try this one:
    http://www.themadfermentationist.com/2015/06/hop-juice-north-east-ipa-recipe.html

FWIW, Tree House does state that Julius is brewed with 1.6oz of hops per gallon of American hops.
I tried to use my gift of the gab with Dean as I was purchasing some stuff a while back. I asked:
Me: "Hey, you guys say your beers are soft and juicy. Are you doin' something to the water....?"
Dean: [eyebrows and hands go up...]
Me: "...or is it something with carbonation? Playing with co2/nitro mix or somethin'?"
Dean: "It's all in the brewing. It's all in the brewing."
Me: [smiling] "I understand. Hey, it's great stuff. See you guys soon."
    Dean: "Thank you. Enjoy it!"
Me: [walking to car dejected] "Dammit"

Just read 70 pages of a Treehouse Julius Clone thread on another site. As others have said, the hop combo remains a secret other than being all US hops, but I believe Citra/Mosaic/Amarillo was the closest thing to a consensus. Massive flameout, whirlpool and dry hop additions.

Y'all know there is a clone recipe for this printed in the Oct 2016 issue of BYO? The article offers special thanks to brewers at the Alchemist, Hill Farmstead, Foundation, Fiddlehead, Rock Art, and Trillium, so it would appear that Tree House did not provide input. However, the recipe beer similarity to other NEIPA recipes, including the Averagely Perfect one -- British pale malt, flaked oats (and oat malt), honey malt, turbinado, mosaic, simcoe, and citra. For yeast, the recipe says WY1318, WLP022, or WY1335.

If you are interested in an exact replica, plan several batches to dial it in, doing a lot of side-by-side comparison with the homebrew and the commercial brew. If you are not hung up on brewing an exact replica, there's more than enough info out there to inform you how brew something that is in the ballpark and delicious.

I have come to the conclusion that Giga Vermont IPA yeast will clear with time, but provides a wider window for imbibing. I split my last batch into 2 kegs and the 2nd keg is as clear (and enjoyable) as the 3 Celebrations I just enjoyed  cheers all
