I cannot get this wine, and will make any fair trade for a bottle of it.

Some of the beers I have listed are not eligible for certain whiskey trades. I'm very open to offers and negotiations, and I'm flexible, so if you have a question, please feel free to message me. Please direct trade offers to me via PM. Happy holidays! Let's trade!

Edit: Apparently it's necessary that I add this -
I am looking to trade $4$. For those of you who don't understand this, that doesn't mean I send you $80 worth of goods in exchange for $25 worth of goods. These beers and spirits are limited in their production. That doesn't mean you need to make a profit. I will not entertain unfair trades. Dollar figures needn't be precise, but I'm not asking for more than I paid worth, and I won't trade for significantly less. That's just insulting.

TLDR: Trade ratios are approximately dollar-for-dollar in bottle/can value.

    Thank you

You should take Eagle Rare 17 year off your ISO then. If you are looking for a $4$ trade you would need something equal in rarity and nothing on your FT list is even close.

That still sort of negates the $4$ concept. I didn't post everything I have access to, because then it would be a book. I'll leave it as it is, with no expectation of an offer for it.

Curious to know about the Pinot you are ISO. A 92 on vinous is hardly something all that desireable especially at the price point.

It's a rather obscure bottle from the Sonoma Coast. Originally, it was only available to Peay Club Members, but now, I believe it can be ordered in a couple of states. I know it's available in New York, because I got a bottle last year on Long Island. As far as I'm concerned, it's the pinnacle of Pinot Noir. I've had some fairly high end bottles, Louis Jadot Clos de la Roche, Kathryn Hall, Opus One, etc... but so far, that 2016 Peat Scallop Shelf pinot tops them all. Maybe it's just a personal thing, but it's the best pinot noir I've ever had, and perhaps the best red. The vibrant, almost lively texture, like fine beluga caviar bursting in your mouth, the complex minerality that seems to convey the cool, moist coastal air to the palate, and the perfect balance between intense jammy skin notes, and dry, tannic oak. It's my desert island wine, and nothing I've had has bested it. At $60, I personally think it's a steal, when you compare it to other similar bottles that fetch double that. It's just one that you have to experience to understand. It can't be adequately described. I've been hunting for this damn bottle, practically daily, of over a year to no avail.

Damn, that secondary value is insane. I just sold a bottle not too long ago for like $180. Didn't realise the asking price jumped 10 fold. There, I have removed it, replaced it, and added something of equal value to my FT.

Wow had no idea. Kathryn hall and opus one are cabs though. I've wanted to pull the trigger on the Kathryn hall but it's like $160 here and I don't think the current year is all that good. Unless you've had multiple bottles you could have just got a really good bottle of this paey Pinot. I personally have a real hard time finding good Pinots that have good fruit character and aren't weird musty wines that attract some. The last good Pinot I had was Seascape Ten and the 2016 was insane after I gave it a good 6 hours to open up. Had this electric purple color and it was the most fruit forward Pinot I've ever had. Again, could just be a great bottle. Thanks for your insight

I would love to buy that ER17 at $180. I've been stocking up on ER10 at Costco (hit shelves twice this season) at $26 and I would gladly spend $60 on a bourbon of this quality so I can't even imagine how good the 17yr is.

I've yet to try the 17. I work at a shop that gets generous allocations, and we pride ourselves in keeping these bottles at reasonable prices. I've been criticised by folks here on BA who don't believe me when I tell them we sell Pappy bottles at sticker price. If I knew ER17 was fetching $1000, I'd have picked one up in,a heartbeat when I had the chance. The secondary market value for bourbon is obscene. Maybe I should grab some 10yr while it's still under $30. We get a case every week.

As far as the wine goes, the Hall was a cab, and it was good, but not necessarily $120 good. The one Opus One I've had wasn't actually a cab, but rather a blend, and it was also good, but not $350 good. Could have been a little drier. When i had the 2016 Peay, it was over the course of a week, and we had several bottles, both 750ml and 1.5l, and they seemed entirely consistent which gives me hope that it really could just be a damn fine wine. Wish I knew about it before moving out of California. If you ever see it, and you're feeling generous towards yourself, pick up a bottle if it's under $65.

I'll do that. Yes I believe the Opus One you had was the overture blend which I've read isn't worth the $120 neither is cab which is currently at $300. A lot of these high flyer wines keep pricing me out like plumpjack. Same wine maybe even a shittier year but still going up another 25% year after year. Would highly recommend a Dunn Howell Mtn which has def followed the same trend but boy that wine blows me away. I wish I had some of your asks other than the BL. You seem like a cool guy hope this thread garners some interest. Cheers.

I haven't had the Overture Blend. This was just the standard Opus One "Napa Red Wine". Mostly cab, some merlot, and then several small percentages of other varietals that escape me at the moment. It was somewhere between $320 and $340. It certainly wasn't a bad wine, but I didn't think it was any better than some $50 bottles I've had. The skyrocketing prices for "distinguished" wines, spirits, and even beer are getting so out of hand, it's starting to seem like the Dutch tulip mania.

I'll check that one out. Thanks for the recommendation. It's no worries, I've already received an onslaught of inquiries. I'm sure it will pay off to some degree. Thank you. I hope you eventually find a really fantastic pinot that you enjoy. Cheers!
