It would be great if there was some way to close trades without relaying on the thread-started to mark it as closed. Not only would that prevent us from contacting them if the trade is closed, but it will end all of these "Completed trades for _______" threads.

    Just a thought.

I like with the sentiment, but in order for it to be any help at all, it would need to involve two people. Even then, you would wind up with people *closing* fake trades with their bros to try and up the value of beers they have.

    I like the sentiment*

    Please ignore my egregious syntax.

Yeah, I totally agree. It would have to be a BA-programmed thing. Sorta like Amazon verified purchases when leaving product reviews. Not sure how they can do it, since trades are not transactions that can be tracked.. Maybe you can only message people through the trade thread and it's tracked that way? I dunno. Tough to keep people from abusing.

I see people mentioning this a lot but I don't necessarily agree. It would be just as easy, actually much easier for someone to go into one of the thousand "Completed trades for ___" threads and up the value of their beer there. You don't need a friend to help you and all you have to do is say "Traded my FO for 2 Prop" and people take it as gospel.

I've said this before but I wish they would bring back comments in trade posts but make the poster actually click a box that says "Allow Public Comment" or something like that. This would make it so the butthurts wouldn't have to worry about being trolled and the people that want the feedback, positive or negative, would be able to receive it. Then just made it so that posts never move from their original position, meaning if someone comments on a post it doesn't bump the post to the top of the forum. That would seem to correct the two issues that people have with comments in the trade forum.

Maybe add it to the feedback screen as something that can be optionally posted upon completion with the caveat that it that publishes the users. I think if people tried making up fake trades to pump values, trades done by those users would probably be considered not a reliable source. People would probably see some patterns (e.g. one user keeps landing whales for some brewery-only release no one cares about with two other users) The optional piece makes sense for trades that might be lopsided due to regular trade partners or other circumstances that makes it a bad source of trade valuation.

BA could send us an automated e-mail X amount of time after a FT thread is posted..."Did you close a deal involving thread "blah blah blah"" Click here Yes, click here No --> BA adds "CLOSED" to thread title or adds some sort of new symbol that indicates that the deal has been completed.

That only involves one person, and allows users to know if a deal is done or not. If they are curious what the trade closed at, they can BM the thread-starter.
