I'm see this new advert in stores all over here in the SoCal area. So what about it? I've heard and read about Bell's, Three Floyds, Cigar City, Founders, etc. . . . .so who is/are Clown Shoes? And what the big deal?
They are a Massachusetts brewery - make some decent beers but not quite in the same category as FFF, Bells, or CCB. In my opinion, their stouts are what they do best... You can check my reviews of a couple of them if you are interested.
I had them while on vacation in Maine last summer, I was not that impressed with their IPA's at all. Cheers.....
They're coming to the SF Bay Area soon too. Just had Luchador En Fuego tonight & really enjoyed it, nothing too crazy but tasty. I'll give em a shot if they're decently priced.
They're East Coast! Now you don't have to trade your wales for mediocre IPA's. PS: VampSlayer is good tho.
I picked up a bomber of Chocolate Sombrero and a single of Clementine today. Muffin Top seems overly expensive at $11.99 a bottle which is more than any of the other offerings I saw on the shelf.
Ya know, I actually traded for a Vampire Slayer not too long ago. It's been in my stack of "drink these, don't save them" stouts for a while now. I guess I'll move it a little further up the list since they're readily available here now.
Muffin Top, Chocolate Sombrero, Vampire Slayer, Blaecorn Unidragon, and Clementine are available. There are also some limited kegs of Tramp Stamp. They should be about $10 a bomber with the Unidragon being a buck more. Also Clementine is in 4pks. Also new to the market with the Clown Shoes are beers from Brash Brewing Co. Their Texas Exile Imp Porter is pretty solid (very similar to Victory at Sea), and the Item Nine IPA is worth giving a try as well. Cheers
I think Kissmeyer is coming along with those too. If I read the labels correctly, they are all contract brewed at the same brewery.
