They lost me with instructing me on how I should use a frosted glass.

I am glad they mentioned the low-cal content of Guinness. Whenever I offer predominately BMC drinkers a porter or a stout they assume that it'll be "heavy." I think that perception has a lot to do with what we "learn" about Guinness in our early beer drinking days. Keep the myth busting coming.

How many of you forwarded this article immediately to your significant other?

My significant other actually forwarded it to me! Although I already had this thread open, I hadn't read the article yet when she sent it to me.

This is the truth. I have not been sick in over a year since I have had a beer every day! My wife and kids have been sick more than enough for me.

Beer/wine etc in moderation reduces LDL cholesterol, which is good. The bad it can make you fat.

I don't need a reason to drink, and I sure as hell don't need to justify drinking to anyone.

I'm glad their are health benefits, but I could care less.

I don't get why so many people take issue with the frosty glass.

"...how I should use a..." I had to read it twice before I said the same thing.

I don't actually have anything against it you should drink beer the way you enjoy it. I just don't like it when someone trys to tell the "proper way" to serve beer. As long as it gets in your face hole I think you've done it correctly.

Because the "frost" on your glass is actually frozen dishwater.

Guinness was my first go to beer and I totally remember being in the "it's like drinking a load of bread camp" about it being heavy. Don't know if it was peer-pressure, not having experienced other good beer to compare it to, or something else but I distinctly remember thinking it was heavy. Obviously I know more and taste it differently now but I'd love to revisit those crazy days to find out what I was thinking.

Considering Monks use to live on "Sankt Vater bier" during Lent fasting, I would say it's healthy enough!

Written by someone not yet old enough to drink legally?

I did, however, enjoy the mental image of a bunch of guys pouring themselves glasses of chardonnay after a touch football game. Although he didn't indicate whether or not the wine glasses should be frozen.
