I am going to be in denver all next week for work (Hyatt convention center), I am going to try and make it to OB on tuesday. Hoping they will still have some cans left. Anyone want to sell me a 4pk? Cheers Jeff

Since no one else has commented on this shit show... there's no more Java Fidy in cans and a 2 crowler limit for crowlers of Java Fidy (so much for no limits). There are actually tickets for crowlers and lines that mean something at this release, so make sure you get in the right one. If you want cans or tickets for crowlers, head to the coolers. Totally based on my experience at 1:45 pm this afternoon. We all know that this shit changes based on time of day, who you talk to, and the alignment of the planets...

Shouldn't it be expected at this point that an Oskar Blues release is going to be poorly managed? I've never been to one myself but every time I read about them, it's never flattering for Oskar Blues.

Sounds like a typical Weasel release. I don't need coffee in my beer bad enough to deal with that.

Forget OB and head to the Upslope 8th Anniversary party. Great time and shitlord free.

Poorly managed is an understatement. Nobody I was in line with even realized there two lines until after we were standing there for 20 min. Regret wasting a few hours dealing with that mess, but at least I did manage to get 2 crowlers and a few stovepipe a of reg BA. Why the hell were there no limits if they didn't even have enough Java in cans to last more than 30 min? Oh well, live and learn. Tweak comes out in a few weeks, and is much easier to get (and better, IMO).

I'm not waiting for crowlers cause I can't figure out what the hell is happening but I walked in and out with cans of ba fidy in minutes.

    They need till set limits.

The difference with this release was OB's half assed attempt at organization in which they consciously decided to have different lines serving different purposes and issue tickets for crowlers. Why bother with the pretense of trying to make things run smoothly when they're so good at unabashedly hosting shitty releases?

I got there at 11 and they were already selling cases. They ran out at like what? 12:30? I managed to get my case, but I saw a dude walking out with 7 fucking cases! He had it carted out to his car! That's like a grand of beer bro! Save some for the rest of us! A lady there had a case of regular BATF and was kinda spiteful towards me for having the JAVA. I think 1 case per person would have totally made this release manageable.

Just realized they were also overcharging for Java crowlers. Charged $30, shoulda been $25. Bastards. Definitely bringing down my already low opinion of OB.

I drove back to the Weasel and got money back. The bartender was aware of the issue and referred me to her manager. Not sure how they've been addressing this or will continue to address it for people who do contact them, but I thought I'd share my experience. Apparently there was miscommunication between the person who does their social media and the taproom. Java crowlers were supposed to be advertised as $30.

$30 for a crowler?? :grimacing::grimacing::grimacing: I thought the advertised $25 was bad, but $30 is $.94/oz (compared to $.65/oz for 19.2 stovepipes). Good grief. I like the BA Fidy, and will grab one around town if I see it, but the more I hear about this release, the less inclined I am to seek this kind of stuff out. I'll happily stick to WeldWerks releases instead.

Are you seriously trying to justify purchasing 24 x19.2oz cans of BAJF?? Come on. That other person who got the 7 cases, and others, such as yourself, should of been told that 6 was the limit. End of story. This sort of juvenile behavior is really turning me off to certain aspects of Craft Beer. Festivals, Releases and the such are becoming harder and harder to tolerate.

Totally. Was just saying I'm not all that inclined to go to special releases (e.g. BA Java Fidy); I'll just wait and grab what I can during the all-to-frequent trips to the bottle shop :-)

I wouldn't know. Some of us in the industry still have to work on Saturdays. I can remember when Breweries held releases on Sundays. At least a few still do.
WTF does one person need, and or do with 168 Stovepipes of BAJF??

Try over 2 grand haha. I actually heard there was someone that dropped over 3 grand. And I thought I spent too much getting 9 of each! Many of mine are destined for trade partners and friends. And my stomach.

I can understand the frustration with the people that buy cases upon cases, but that's on Oscar Blues moreso. You can't put no limits on a beer that runs out 30 minutes into the release (yes, I know they started selling early, but no one knew that either). It was a very poorly run operation all around yesterday. I'm happy because I got what I wanted, but I feel for all the people that didn't.
