    Whiskey.
From beginning to end. I'm sure people with more talented tastebuds will pull more from it. This is most definitely not a complaint, I love booze forward stouts and this is exactly what I like. If I were to be picky I would like a little more viscosity to the body, but that's me trying to find something to criticize.

I'll probably drink a second for my BDay in July, send one to a friend and let one sit for 6 months or so and see what it does.

Really enjoyed it. Def whiskey forward but I get what tastes like a tootsie roll as well. Awesome beer for being so young. Glad I have another to sit on.

Looks like I was back in town for the right weekend. Was able to make it and grab a couple bottles of the Whiskey Funeral too. Drinking one now and really enjoying it as well. Will enjoy the other bottle during my next trip back.

I agree with the most of the thoughts above re: Whiskey Funeral. The bourbon most definitely has a strong presence and it's a bit hot at this stage. But the flavor notes are really nice - I get cacao, vanilla, and hints of toffee/caramel - and it seems like this beer will age well. It isn't as sweet as most imperial stouts, and the body is a bit lighter as Jasonrm72 noted above. I split one bottle at the brewery and am looking forward to seeing how the two bottles I purchased transform as they age.

@TrveBrewer Of course, I head out of town for the release. Know the brewery is closed on Monday, but are there any bottles still available? Was planning on making a mad dash over there tomorrow and am hoping there are a few still left.

I think there are roughly 5 cases left.

I'm going to have to head down and grab some of those W.F. bottles. I'm curious to do a now vs. then comparison on any beer with a heavy spirit character.

Yeah, I don't think CBC #2 was intended to age. The impression I got was that they just wanted to toss that beer in a barrel and see what it would do. Nearly every mild'ish stout I've had that has been barrel age has either been overpowered by booze or it has no lasting power. I actually like the idea of using a blend of non-BA stout in those instances.
At the same time CBC #1 is doing quite well right now.

Wish I had saved one. The last one I drank a few months ago was still pretty great though.

As much as I love Big Bad Baptist as is, I'm curious what a 100% barrel aged version tastes like. Come on @EpicBrewingCo make my dreams come true and put it on at the taproom

Did anybody pick up a case of City Star Outlaw when it was on sale? I had a bottle after they sold out :-( and I'd like to get my hands on multiple bottles. Would love to hear from anyone that may have some.

Just had a Whiskey Funeral, the whiskey has dropped off, but is still prominent. Still very good but I don't think I'll let this one sit any longer, I'll consume my last 2 soon.

Since I saw Dry Dock advertise the release of 2015 Whiskey Aged Imperial Stout, I decided to open my last 2014. Now this guy aged well. The whiskey is muted but definitely present. I never really thought the whiskey to be real strong in this beer anyhow, unlike the browns and porters. So my perception of the whiskey drop-off may not be equal. Regardless, the stout itself held up wonderfully and the whisp of whiskey adds a nice kick.

Storm Peak Brewing is releasing ~200 bottles of a barrel aged stout on Sunday. Anyone planning to be in Steamboat Springs?
