I would toe punch a leprechaun in the dirt box for another bottle of that beer, or a tap south of hampden for that matter.

Medianoche should be coming very soon. Not sure about variants. What are you guys hoping to see? I missed every single one last year. I'd like to see:
    - Coffee Cinnamon
    - S'mores
    - Amore (raspberry chocolate)
    - Coconut
    - Maple

    Yes.

but yeah. I'd gladly buy a ton of non-adjunct Medianoche. I wouldn't say no to anything on your list (especially coconut, which was superb). I'd probably add Hazlenut in there somewhere.

Been drinking on the Bull & Bush Legend of the Liquid Brain tonight. Definitely worth the high praise. Very much reminds me of Bourbon County, which is high praise right there (non-sour version).

BA Imperial Crustless is pretty good, I find the barrel to be real light, but it would have to be in order for the PB&J to come thru. Enjoyable all the same. On tap @ Crafty Fox.
    Ps meh waaaay overpriced pizza

Also just tried this at the Crafty Fox. Impressive PB&J flavors for 13% ABV or whatever is.

Got home tonight and cracked a can of the F&G BBA Imperial Stout. Too heavy on the cinnamon for my preference. Smells like one of those cinnamon-roll places in the airport/mall.

Finally hit me: I love the cinnamon in this year's. BUT, unlike last year's, I'm likely only going to be drinking one every few weeks. The charm of the last one (to me) was that it was a canned BA stout that I could drink several times a week. Trade offs, I guess?

Thats it exactly. Last year's was the perfect weekday BA stout. Perfect to satisfy that thirst, but not so much you have to call in the next morning.

I know it technically isn't a stout but Odell's Barrel Aged Mountain Standard was really good, IMO, and drank more like a stout/porter than Black IPA. Really got no hoppiness from it, personally, but nice barrrel and dark malt contributions. That was a good thing.

    I'd be down.

I really want to see a imperial Cutthroat Porter aged in some rye barrels.

Drinking Jolly Russian now @ Stanley Beer Hall. I've come to dislike O'dell greatly, but Jolly is pretty good. They haven't converted me but I dislike them slightly less now.

Odell might be paranoid when it comes to making more BA big stouts. Back when only a few places were doing that, they had infection issues and even a pair of recalls. That's been like 10 years ago, but it was probably enough to make anyone a little gun shy. Then again, it never stopped Great Divide and now they're all-in with the idea.

    Oh?

I will say that every time I've visited the taproom the employees have nothing to offer but snark, but from a beer standpoint I'm a fan.

The second time was pretty close to that. The first time it was a few years prior. That was also right around the time I found a whole hop cone in their India Barleywine. Their QA/QC wasn't the best back then...

Do you guys typically email the breweries about these issues?
I would think they'd be interested to hear these things.

In fact, I had one of FCB's malt monsters a few weeks ago that was clearly infected. It was supposedly a barleywine, but it was sour and every sip I took resulted in an intolerable amount of foam/effervescence in my mouth. I took the time to email them about the issue, and have not heard back from them yet.... I'm not surprised at all since pretty much everything they do sucks (except their restaurant, which is overpriced and okay). Luckily my friend got it for free and passed it along as she doesn't really dig strong beers.

Its a downright shame they have take the 'Fort Collins' name and produce some of the worst beer around. This town has so many great beers and is known nationally for all our goodness, but then FCB gets to cash in on that with seemingly zero regard for even the most modest level of quality.

    ::end rant::

Yeah - I definitely do. You're doing everyone a favor if the issue is legitimate and not just "this wasn't good."

Odell made it right, too. Doug Odell contacted me directly and they had one of their sales reps bring a replacement to my door. I guess they also swapped out those bad BA Stout kegs for something zany, too. I remember the Rackhouse actually being more happy about the replacement.

When the first batch of La Folie hit shelves (first time it was available outside of the brewery), I got one that was dead flat. Apparently there was one lot that didn't carb at all and we helped them yank the others. I got 2 replacement bottles shipped next-day and some NB schwag from their team.

Breckenridge is the only brewery I've ever contacted that didn't give a shit. My wife and I used to buy Well Built all the time. It was both really tasty and affordable. Yet we had 2 bottles in a row that were badly infected. Sour, buttery, slick, and just plain bad. Not the same beer at all. We contacted them twice with all of the details (numbers and all) and we never got a response. We tried both e-mail and their website. As a result, I won't buy anything from those guys anymore. I don't even care if AB "fixed the glitch."

Odell has released a number of barrel aged stuff these past couple years without any issues. Not sure they are all that paranoid (anymore). I guess most of the stuff has been virgin oak barrels but most recently they have their new line of 12 ounce bottled stuff specific to barrel aging like Jolly Rumpkin and their most recent Barrel Aged Mountain Standard (aged in bourbon barrels).

Odell has a separate building next door to their main facility for barrel aging beers FWIW
