my regulator is going crazy. It climbs up to 40+ psi with the co2 tank turned off. It will also do the same thing when hooked up to the keg. I cant get it to stabilize. Is there anything I can do, and is this a common problem when something is wrong.

If the pressure is climbing to 40+ with everything turned off, it's a pretty safe bet you've got a bad gauge. Try tapping it to see if it changes. You can replace the gauge for under $10.

When regulators go bad the tend to creep...

    ...upward.

I've got good news and bad news.

The bad news is that it needs to be rebuilt.

The good news is that it is usually less than $19

    What regulator is it?

Just be aware that normally your low pressure gauge is right hand thread and high pressure is left hand. But not always.

Is it the Kegco reg? I have that one from BF as well. I've noticed it make some swings in pressure, though not that large! Seems to be much better now though, since I've been able to put the tank and reg outside the keezer..
