I did a search and nothing came up, so I'll pose it here. I'm brand spanking new to kegging. I picked up a used corny and a CO2 tank, had the tank filled, used it to check for leaks, everything was fine, then used it again to dispense some of the sanitzer through the dip tube in preparation for racking my beer and now the valve won't close. It's stuck, stuck, like feats of strength stuck. Anyone had this happen? Any solutions? The place that filled it is closed til tomorrow so they're not an option right now.
If you are SURE it's still open, I'd try a pipe wrench with a light touch to see if it will break lose to close. Are you sure it's not already closed? Just asking...
I can adjust the psi so I'm assuming it's still open. I'm not sweating it too hard because I was planning to keg anyway. But being a keg n00b I'm not really sure if it's something I'm doing wrong and what options I have after the keg kicks.
No, never seen that...righty, tighty...lefty loosy for CO2 There might be some CO2 pressure left in regulator with valve shut...do you have a manual relief on regulator?
Here's a pic. Fortunately, they even put arrows on the knob for guys like me, but it won't turn in either direction. Is that a manual relief on the regulator?
Got err fixed. Looks like a wonky knob on the tank valve. Unscrewed the knob and some debris crumbled out, screwed it back down and it seems to be opening and closing properly now. I'll look into a replacement knob. Got my beer racked and ready to pop one. I appreciate the replies. Cheers.
