COAST announced today that their next batch of Boy King will be available this Thursday, August 7th at the brewery. They will have both bottles and growler fills, along with pint tastings. With Westbrook releasing their Citrus Ninja just over a week ago, it's a great time to be in Charleston for these 2 heavyweight DIPAS!

Sweet. I'll be touring the area next week. Will these likely still be around?

Depends on how much they made. I would guess that there should be some left after the initial rush. They are open Thursday through Saturday.

I noticed the shelf space at Morganelli's for it was almost cleared out already at 10 AM.

Also, who is the distributor for Coast in Columbia? I know I was able to get Boy King on the last release.

I would say certainly on tap at a minimum, bottles will probably be available until early next week at the brewery (total guess - last augusts release was insane, this last one - they lingered around for a bit). IF this was done on their new system, theyll be around much longer

That's what I was thinking. If this was done on the new 30-barrel system -- and I imagine it was -- there will be A LOT more to enjoy than is usually the case.

I'm hoping to get over there tomorrow, so I'll ask if they made more for this batch.

Advintage is the distributor. There's at least one lovely beer lady on here that works for them.

Boy King is such an amazing beer, over the last 2 plus years of living here in SC it has slowly been climbing its way to the title of my favorite DIPA. Drinkability is absurd too, its dangerous how fast they go down. Looking forward to the possibility of greater available of this lovely beer now that the larger barrel system is in place.

That would be me, I work for Advintage in the Columbia area. I can also usually answer questions for Fort Mill and get quick answers for Greenville area.

We didn't pick up any boy king this week- we pick up on Mondays and I think they released it on Tuesday (?)- so maybe next week. But I have no idea what I may get allocated for cases or kegs.

Morganellis has plenty of Citrus Ninja- they're having their floors cleaned and waxed this weekend so they won't build a display until Monday. Ask if you need some! It's on their growler station too. Bottles are $7.99

    Cheers, Danielle

It was a 30BBL batch; however, there were eight casks created as well as growler fills are available (limit 2). So, I would still expect a good number of bottles but not quite the production from the May 8th batch.

8 casks? Baller. Any word on plans for what to put in the cask besides the Citra from the one today. Also, didnt see you there today, did the 98 degrees plus no air conditioning scare you off?

For what its worth I heard Jamie say they had 45 cases of bottles. Not sure if that was the total bottle count or the bottle count that the brewery kept out of the total to sell on site.

I just got back from COAST and asked about the bottles. I was told that around 70 cases were made, which is more than the last batch. I don't know how many were set aside for distro, but they were flying out of the brewery this evening.

Busiest I have ever seen it. Which says something since it was 95plus degrees out and suffocatingly hot in there. Boy King is worth it though, for sure.
