We need an Old Nuptial reprise! They did a great job with that. In general, there aren't many barleywines coming out of the area.

If anyone has an extra bottle of Old Nuptial around collecting dust, let me know. I'd be happy to take the old ball and chain off your hands

I think out of all the breweries I've tried, Coast has had the highest percentage of "hits" to me. They do an excellent job with traditional German styles but their hoppy stuff and stouts are also really good. Bulls Bay was a great oyster stout.

That's my favorite COAST beer, hands down. And as far as Bourbon Barrel-Aged American and English Barleywines, it's one of the best ones.

Have a couple, but not LOOKING to trade them. Depends on what you got

They always date the cans. Look on the bottom...

Strange, that would be the first place I'd look for a date. I will check closer next time I'm in a shop that carries it, but I don't remember seeing them before. Has EVERY batch been dated? Maybe I've been buying really old stuff.

I know they dated their second batch, can't remember the first. The third said #suckitdry on the bottom...

They do date the cans and the first canned batch was very offputting, everyone kind of felt that way

    Pils is a hoppy style.

I'm going to say ~20 of their 40 beers are hop forward - granted, 60-70% of their regularly seen beers are on the "hoppy" side. Check out their list as temperatures cool and as we start to enter fall, I bet it's more like 60-70% Lagers, ambers, and stouts. I don't think there's anything wrong with their variety of beers. COAST also tends to use the freshest local/organic ingrediants. HopArt is not always the same recipe, I've probably had about 5 batches in 5 years that I did not like at all (unfortunately), the other 75+ batches have been anywhere from great to one of my favorite IPAs. To their credit, none of their beers are mearly hop-bombs - this is why some people love HopArt and others dont - its significantly more balanced and heartier than your standard Low FG IPA.

Love Boy King. I hope this is widely distributed and not just local.

Wonder if they will be making all Blackbeerd in barrel-aged form like they did this year or if they'll go back to both versions? Either way, that is South Carolina's best imperial stout.

@scbeerman, they released regular blackbeerd this year

Did they? I heard they saved a little bit for growlers and kegs, etc, but all of the bottles were barrel-aged even though they weren't specifically labelled as such.

They bottled both. The only difference is that the regular has no wax. I have several bottles of the regular dated 2/13/15. The BA was bottled in April and May.
