Going to brew a big stout soon to put away for the late fall and had wanted it to be a coconut rum stout. Until I just heard that coconut fades. If it won't last, I will adjust my plans.

How long has coconut flavor/aroma lasted for you??

At least 6 months, but it does fade.

I only used coconut once. I put 7oz of toasted coconut flakes in 3 gal of an imperial stout for 2 weeks. Coconut was nice but not as strong as I would’ve hoped for up front. The coconut was totally gone by 3-4 mos. Fortunately the base stout still tastes great.

Drink it quick - less than 6 months.

Brewing the stout now, I may just end up bulk aging this on rum soaked oak staves until August and then add the coconut before bottling.

Keep it cold, the flavor will last longer.
