    This.

Don't get me wrong, BCBS and Founders and especially Mikkeller's Breakfasts are awesome, but for pure chocoffee goodness, gotta go with Speedway Stout. It tastes like chocolate covered espresso beans. So good. I've aged bottles for a year or so, had fresh ones, it's great either way. Didn't notice much difference after aging, but then again I didn't take any notes so it was just a mental comparison.

Somehow I've never heard of Peche Mortel, but seeing it's made by Dieu de ciel I'm gonna have to start searching. Their Equinox du Printemps scotch ale is my favorite beer ever.

Hinterland's Stout is a great coffee stout and comes in a pint so that is also a nice perk.

If you want something with a twist (and you can get it) I really like Dark Horse's Perkulator. A Coffee bock. And it works! Whodathunkit.

Also, Troegs' Javahead. Oh and FBS =)

If coffee is your thing then I'd be remiss if I didn't suggest FBS. I've never had Speedway Stout though.

Thanks for making this post and everyone who has chimed in. I'm a craft beer neophyte who's been indulging on stouts. I love coffee and, just like the original poster, I've been on the hunt for the same flavor profile.

Speedway Stout is really good. Can't wait to try its Barrel-aged version and among others.

I like Sierra Nevada's Narwhal Imperial Stout. It's got a good roasted malt flavor combined with dark chocolate and coffee notes. It's inexpensive and readily available.

Been lucky to have a couple of tasters of Black Tuesday Vanilla Coffee variation. I wish it was readily available.

Troegs Java Head is really good. Also, though it is a actually a porter, BBC Coffeehouse is probably my favorite coffee beer.

Can't believe someone hasn't said Jester King/Mikkeller Whiskey Barrel Rodeo. Coffee Stout with chipotle aged in whiskey barrels. *Gob voice* COME ON! */Gob voice*

New Belgium's Lips of Faith Coffee Chocolate Stout that recently came out was fantastic IMHO. Easy to find in about half the US as well.

Oh and everything everyone said about Santa Fe Java Stout. That shit is fantastic.

Get yourself a Michigan trade partner and get some Short's Cup-A-Joe. Best coffee stout out there.

The new Lips of Faith Imperial Coffee Chocolate Stout by New Belgium is worth a try. Very coffee forward. It's currently rated as an 83, but there are only 21 reviews. It's nowhere close to Peche Mortel though.

Bought 3 Batch 31 on honeymoon when we stopped at Hunger Mountain Co-op, haven't cracked one yet though. Looking forward to this treat. Perhaps this will be one of my Thanksgiving beers.
Also, had already been in Montreal, so had a case of Peche Mortel in trunk

This. Its not as bitter, and has the sweetness of chocolate, but maybe a Lips of Faith choco coffee imperial stout?
