Cold Press Black by Bent Paddle (Duluth, MN) is a go-to for me. It's an excellent Cascadian Black IPA that clocks in at a reasonable ABV (six-ish percent) with no barrel aging or gimmicks, aside from a generous wallop of cold-brewed coffee. In short, an excellent black IPA with plenty of coffee flavor.

The base brew is pretty damn good as well.

I think Java Stout showed up for All Stouts Day 2-3 years ago, but I think more recently it was replaced by Arabicadabra Stout. However, I can't find either on the Bell's website so maybe they've both been discontinued for distro and may show up in small batches for taproom only. Just a guess.

I will 2nd @Mindcrime1000 suggestion of Bent Paddle Cold Press, it is a dandy!

I would also suggest Surly Coffee Bender from MN. Coffee Bender is probably the most coffee forward beer I have had. The base beer is Surly's brown ale, Bender, which btw is my all time favorite brown ale, (discontinued distro a couple yrs ago:angry:). It is a real coffee bomb!

Let me know if you are interested in either beer, as I could possibly mule some back to the VA/PA area in a few weeks. Cheers

Gooseweiser's Fulton Street Blend is/was a bold coffee-forward blonde ale. It's still listed as active, but the last review on it was done in late 2021 and there's no info on it on their web site as far as I can tell. I wouldn't be surprised if it went the way of their Honkers Ale.

If you get Parish their Reve Coffee Stout is a good one. Also, Wake n Bake from Terrapin is a good one for me. Wake n Bake should be coming out soon as it is seasonal.

Maybe it's your palate? Just read your review and there is no cinnamon in this beer. I didn't love this either, but dang that was a lot of hostility. I hope you have some hobbies you actually like.

Cafe Deth isn’t too hard to find around me, last years is still sitting on the shelf, singles available.

It’s a shame you’re not closer to Tree House, they love coffee stouts and make some pretty good ones.

No bueno on the oatmeal stouts, too? Just curious because there's some solid choices out there that sadly are getting fewer because of all the blending of flavors etc.

Been drinking that for years. I just grabbed a 16x12 pack, $21. Last year it was $18. I always look forward to the stout box they do as well. Some good ones and some not so good. I really enjoyed the coffee berry stout a bit back. Thought I was going to hate it. Last years box was overall a dud.

    Enjoy
